It is a result of how CP changed up alternative tips. So, you have to take it into account with original tip, my comment of:
Always review all changes before submitting them. Especially, if using a global find and replace.

Changing stuff without looking at them is asking for trouble. The use-case described calls for #if DEBUG Smile | :)
