How to attach to IIS WPW3 process using the vscommands extension in Visual Studio 2010.

You can directly find the process ID and application pool name to which you want to attach your solution to using vscommands. Instead of finding the process ID and application pool using appcmd list wp, use the vscommands tool.

  1. Download the vscommands extension from the http://visualstudiogallery.msdn.microsoft.com/d491911d-97f3-4cf6-87b0-6a2882120acf?SRC=Featured[^].
  2. Install vscommands.
  3. Restart VS2010.
  4. Right click on the solution and select "Attach to Local IIS", it will display all the worker processes.
  5. Create a keyboard shortcut for this. Open Tools->Options->Environment->Keyboard and add the shortcut for VSCommands.AttachToProcess.
