Write a great article explaining how to build an app or using the 2007 Microsoft Office system,
post it in the Office Development section, and if
yours is the highest rated article by both The Code Project community and our judges, you win a free
pass to the conference plus free travel to the conference! See below for more details. Only one
grand prize winner selected at the end of the contest.
Details you need to know
- Your article must follow the regular CodeProject.com article guidelines
and formats
- Your article should include screen shots and code samples
- Your article must incorporate the 2007 Microsoft Office system products and technologies
- Post your article in the Office Development area
on the Code Project to automatically be entered in the contest.
- You must specify any resources (code, concepts, research etc.) used in creating your
article that were not originally produced by you.
CodeProject.com members can vote on your article. The articles that are highest-rated by
members will be rated by our judges to determine the final winner.
By entering your article in the contest you agree that The Code Project and Microsoft
can link to your article for promotional purposes.
Also,
- Entries must be received by no later than midnight US Eastern Standard Time of the last day of
each judging period to be included in that period's voting.
- Entries shall be deemed to be submitted by the authorized account holder of the e-mail address
submitted at the time of entry unless clearly indicated otherwise. "Authorized account
holder" is defined as the natural person who is assigned to an e-mail address by an internet
access provider, on-line service provider, or other organization (e.g. business, educational
institution, etc.) that is responsible for assigning e-mail addresses for the domain associated
with the submitted e-mail address.
Eligibility
This competition is open to software development professionals & enthusiasts who are of the
age of majority in their jurisdiction of residence; however, residents of Quebec and of the following
countries are ineligible to participate due to legal constraints: Cuba, Iran, Iraq, Libya, North Korea,
Sudan, and Syria. Employees (or a member of their immediate family) of The Code Project or of Microsoft
or any of their affiliates, subsidiaries, advertising or promotional agencies are also ineligible to
participate. Void where prohibited by law.
Determination of Winner
All entries will be posted on The Code Project website for review by members of The Code Project.
In addition, all entries will be reviewed by judges appointed by The Code Project. A winner will be
determined by the judges, after taking into consideration the comments and ranking of entries by members
of The Code Project, on the basis of which entry best meets the judging criteria set forth below.
Judging criteria include:
- Rank and popularity on The Code Project
- For article submissions,
- How tightly an entry adheres to the conditions of entry, including article focus and scope
- Broad applicability to a wide variety of developers
- Overall article quality, coherence, and structure
Prizes
The highest-rated article as determined by codeproject.com members and our judges' opinion
will win in a free pass to the Microsoft Office System Developer Conference PLUS free travel to
the conference (up to US $1500) - a combined US $2795 value! No substitutions are available.
All decisions are final.
- Articles must follow the guidelines listed above.
- The articles must focus on 2007 Microsoft Office system development.
- The articles can be in C++, C#, VB.NET or any .NET language.
- No cheating, lying, stealing code, or biting.
- The deadline for entries is midnight on the last day of each month.
- The judges' decision is final and no correspondence will be entered into.
- Only those who live in jurisdictions in which this contest is legal may enter.
- Any breach of the rules and the prize will be awarded to the runner up.
- The contest will begin on November 15, 2007 to January 15, 2008, at 11:59:59 PM US
Eastern Standard Time.
- By entering the contest you agree to the rules, conditions of entry, and agree
that your name, member profile information, and article can be used for promotional
purposes by The Code Project and Microsoft.
