Walt has been playing with software since around 1968 and has generated more runtime errors than the average person. Walt spent 11 years working in Maracaibo, Venezuela on numerical models of oil reservoirs and other assorted projects, but has now moved back to Houston where he works as a Petroleum Engineering and software consultant. Rather than sleep, he also plays with algorithms and systems for technical computing and develops software for engineering evaluations.

Walt is also an avid amateur radio operator and enjoys traveling, especially in Latin America.
