The Gods at CP have chosen to make this the (un)official voice of wisdom for all and sundry. Beware ye mortal, the Holy Voice beckonethestesteth thee.

First Commandment:

Thou shalt register thyself the first thing thee does on CP. Thou shalt not roam the streets of CP anonymously. Thou shalt not forget to introduce thyself to thy fellow CPian when thou joineth the site. Thou shalt carry out this introduction in the CP Lounge where most of the active CPians hangeth out.

Second Commandment:

Thou shalt not forget to read all the CP Lounge posts, and also as many posts in the other CP Forums as thou canst. Thou shalt not tell thyself that doing thy office work be more important than reading CP Lounge posts. For verily it is true; there hath never been a greater joy than reading Lounge posts from thy fellow CPian. Thee can wager thy donkey, or, as the common man sayeth, bet thy ass, on that.

Third Commandment:

Thou shalt keep posting in the CP Lounge and other CP Forums at regular intervals, even if it produces aches in thy typing fingers. Just like thou liketh reading posts from thy fellow CPian, thy fellow CPian liketh it too, and thou art no one to takest this pleasure away from him/her. If thou thinkest, "Let someone else post messages in the CP Lounge,"and thy message count is low, the Gods at codeproject.com shalt surely punish thee for thy laziness by not increasing your status from bronze to silver, or whatever be applicable in thy case.

Fourth Commandment:

While posting in the CP Lounge or other CP Forums, thou shalt take the utmost care to respect the code of conduct followed in that particular CP Forum. In particular, while posting in the CP Lounge, thou shalt be careful not to pose a programming question, and not to mention words that thee wouldst not use in the presence of thy teenage daughter. Also thou shalt make every effort to make it clear whether a link that thou postst in the CP Forums is worksafe or not. If thou wantst a programming question answered, thou shalt labour mightily to ensure that the question goes into the right forum, and that the question has not already been answered somewhere, even if it means having to use thy brain to thinketh the matter through, and using the CP Search Engine to find your answers.

Fifth Commandment:

Thou shalt bring as many people as thou knoweth in thy workplace and elsewhere to CP and ask them to register here. For when thee hath joineth CP thyself, CP hath given thee many fellow CPians without thy having to ask. It be thy duty to give CP more fellow CPians too. For the greater the number of people in CP, the more articles thou shalt get, and the more postings there shalt be in the CP Forums, and there be much rejoicing in the land.

Sixth Commandment:

Thou shalt not fight or quarrel with thy fellow CPian. Thou art not stopped from making jest to make reading thy posts more pleasurable, but thou shalt use this freedom with wisdom. Shouldst thou falter from thy path, and one of thy fellow CPians askest thee to remedy thyself, thou shalt study and follow his/her pronouncements with care. Thou shalt not try to correct the situation by trying to make more jest by using thine own imagination and sense of humour. Thou canst not, for otherwise the situation wouldst not have arisen. It is alright to argue with thy fellow CPian on a matter thou feelst strongly about, but thou shalt not drone on endlessly and stop tapping thy keyboard after a while. Thou shalt notice when thy audience is likely to get bored, and stop there, lest they take cruel vengeance upon thee by doing the same.

Seventh Commandment:

Thou shalt write as many articles for CP as thou canst. Thou shalt take the most meticulous care to write articles on topics that are both uncovered and of interest to you. If it be thy first article for CP, thou shalt read the Guide To Writing Articles For Code Project by Marc Clifton and follow his word to the letter, especially if thou wantst thy article to be recieved well by thy fellow CPians. If thou manageth to write a really useful article, or one that explains some concepts well, even to beginners, thy fellow CPians shall be very pleased, praise thee with great praises and score thy articles with great scores.

Eighth Commandment:

Thou shalt follow the submission guidelines while sending thy articles to CP. Thou shalt take special care to ensure that the zip files are of the smallest possible size, by removing the intermediate files from thy project folders before zipping them. For those who must download thy zip files on a dial-up connection art weak of stomach and are likely to lose their most recent meal shouldst they see .obj and other unnecessary files included in the zip. Thou shalt also preserve the style and formatting of the CP articles. Great praise shall be given to thy wisdom in doing what be right instead of what thou wantst.

Ninth Commandment:

Thou shalt always use Microsoft Technologies, and always do thy development work using the Visual Studio. If perchance thy needst to develop on some other platform using some other compiler, to earn thy living for example, thou shalt make up for thy sin by writing more articles for CP, and posting more messages in the CP forums. Shouldst thou spot a follower of Lee's New Ox, thou shalt do everything in thy power to bring him/her back and show him/her the path to nirvana by doing what be right, and absolve his/her sins by writing articles for CP and posting on CP Forums.

Tenth Commandment:

Thou shalt foreswear, renounce and abjure the vile heresy that claimeth that "It's OK to disobey the Ten Commandments", and condemn those who cling to this barbarous belief. For obedience is paramount and he/she who doth not obey the Commandments shalt face the righteous wrath of those who doth obey them with due diligence.
