Introduction

This will be a culmination of combined data management and services based on solving a problem for my wife's mobile salon. This is my entry into the Azure contest.

Background

The idea behind this came from my wife's need to be mobile while still retaining a full business presence where ever she was. She has the need to have customer information at the ready, while also providing information to her customer base. Next appointments, prior services, estimated costs, and such information will be made available to the client through an account feature. Also from an operator perspective she will be able to access relevant client information either via her desktop computer, a web device of any kind, and hopefully a decent mobile app. The website will also serve as a business presence online for her salon services. As I am a single developer taking on this challenge it should be fun.

Using the code

Currently I have no code to share. But as the project develops I will begin sharing the snippets as I find them in order to show how I overcame certain problems during development.

Points of Interest

Regardless of this contest this is an application/service I will be seeing through till the end.

History

As of today 5/13/13 I have created my free Azure account and put up the placeholder for what will be the website. temptedsalon.azurewebsites.net

I hope to have most of the site built with some lightweight accounts and functions within the next two weeks to encompass utilizing my SQL knowledge, and  website development.

I have framed up the requirements for the website both from a client and admin side. As well as future considerations for mobile deployment, and SMS/Email notifications to clients for appointments.
