Use existing functionality in ASP.NET to extend the framework's web controls.
namespace htmlAttributes
{
	using System;
	using System.Web;
	using System.Web.UI;
	using System.Web.UI.WebControls;

	/// <summary>
	/// Summary description for PermissionAttribute.
	///
	/// Contains the custom implementation for processing the specified permissions
	/// for a System.Web.UI.WebControls.WebControl.
	/// </summary>
	public class PermissionAttribute : IAttribute
	{
		#region IAttribute Members

		/// <summary>
		/// Applies the specified permission to the control.
		/// </summary>
		/// <param name="attributeValue">Role on which the control will be enabled.</param>
		/// <param name="wc">The current control</param>
		public void Apply(string attributeValue, WebControl wc)
		{
			// Get the roles to look for
			string[] roles = attributeValue.Split(",".ToCharArray());

			if (roles != null)
			{
				// Look through all the specified roles
				foreach(string role in roles)
				{
					// Apply the first role you see that matches
					if (!wc.Page.User.IsInRole(role))
					{
						wc.Enabled = false;
						break;
					}
				}
			}
		}

		#endregion
	}
}
