Update: I popped with the IT bubble in '01, and until this year I was a milkman. (I did continue as a contractor but the work became more and more sparse).

So now I am back at uni studying my MIT,
@ Deakin in VIC, Australia. (http://deakin.edu.au)

I got a lot to catch up on - I'm migrating from Visual C++ version 5 to C#/Java, and I am also studying Advanced Database Systems, Data Mining and Linux & Open Source Software.

My first 2 assignments got me 2 distinctions and a false sense of security - I failed the next 2, so apologies in advance if I ask a lot of questions over the next year and a half. But members of this site in India, Great Britain & South Africa halped save my job several times so you may recall I put a lot in to helping people out where I could.

No question is a stupid question so I try to find people with problems that are trivial to more advanced developers - because to them they are HUGE problems.

Alors...

Good luck all, and stick to it. The open source community rocks - if the world followed our lead it would be a great planet all over.

[My Old Bio]
Hi. I'm a Windows (mainly C++ SDK/MFC unfortunately so far but planning to skip COM if I can - I have managed it for 3 years so far - and learn C# & .NET which don't look too difficult) programmer with a B.Comp from Deakin Uni Melb. 1997
4 jobs since then, done a payroll system & other boring stuff to start with; lately an on screen character for World Vision's 40 hour famine named M.T.Rumbles. http://www.xyzstudios.com is where I'm working currently. Should be able to download M.T. from http://www.worldvision.org.au/getinvolved/40hourfamine/index.asp

Privileges

Members need to achieve at least one of the given member levels in the given reputation categories in order to perform a given action. For example, to store personal files in your account area you will need to achieve Platinum level in either the Author or Authority category. The "If Owner" column means that owners of an item automatically have the privilege, and the given member types also gain the privilege regardless of their reputation level.
