I was a Bachelor student major in Computing and Information System and have been working as a C/C++ developer for few years. I have been working in stock trading application, accounting and ERP-lite software, game industry, and telecommunication industry. I do also working on Symbian project for my freelance job when I was free.
When I am working in accounting software, I was assigned to work on the legacy code where the maintainability is tough challenging. The code was complex because it has been edited by global developer from around the world. Thus we have to work closely together so that we are updating each other.
Game development is a great experience I could never get from else where because game doesn't concern just programming, it also cover mathematics, and problem solving, which were my favorite fields. Developing game for Nintendo DS is a challenge task to me due to its limitation in memory size, and low processing power. I have to do some tricks or work around on the logic design in order to get the actual result.
Due to the market demand, the company started shifting from Nintendo development into flash game or casual game. In the meantime, I got a challenging offer to be part of the research group working on telecommunication system. I was doing well in my new job as I was able to show up my adaptability to learn new.
Anyhow, the experience I gained in game development was very different from software application as it is more concerns on technical site. I will never disappoint to myself, and will keep moving forward and looking for opportunity exposure.
