John is a Senior Consultant at Wintellect and has been developing software professionally for over 12 years, having spent most of his career working on high-performance video and statistical analysis tools for premier sports teams, with an emphasis on the NFL, the NBA, and Division 1 NCAA Football and Basketball.

John’s professional computer career began in South Florida the early 1980’s, learning to code on Apple ][ machines and as a tester for an early IBM implementation of the Logo language of the first generation of the PC. In college, John got involved with Sports Video just before the advent of large-scale use of digital video in that field. He joined Avid Sports – then the leading Sports Video Technology company – in 1998. Through Avid Sports and its successors, he worked on reporting solutions, created a new custom video processing engine, was responsible for core and back-end technologies, and led the development of several new product lines.

Prior to joining Wintellect, John worked for Burntsand Consulting, working with both large and small enterprises using .Net technologies for applications including purchase management, logistics, and insurance solutions. John lives in New Hampshire with his wife and daughter, where he is active in the New England development community, speaking at Code Camp and User Group events. When he isn’t finding cause for yet another upgrade to his WMC-based home entertainment system, he occasionally turns to motorcycling and Florida Gator Football to unplug. He is a graduate of the University of Florida with a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering.
