Recently we have bought the new release of the Pink Floyd's Live At Pompeii - Director's Cut on DVD, and I must say that I like the original concert movie more than the director's cut found on this DVD, which was released last year.

A lot of the original Pompeii / concert scenes have been replaced by computer generated 3D graphic scenes of Pompeii, and it just doesn't look good, it appears so inconsistent to me now, mostly because the 3D graphics are not really good.

Fortunately there is also the "Original Movie" on the DVD but again, this is not the original movie as it was released on a VHS tape. This time, it consists only of the songs and doesn't contain the short interviews and recording sessions, but fortunately it doesn't have the artificial 3D scenes as well. Smile | :)

Anyway, it's good to have this great concert movie on a DVD!

So, after a lot of talk about the folding@home distributed computing project in the lounge (http://www.stanford.edu/group/pandegroup/folding/[^]), I decided to give it a try. I became a proud member of the Team Code Project and installed it on my PC in the office, which is turned on almost all the time, to make the CPU idle time more useful.

In the first hours I thought that my PC is either terribly slow and outdated, or that the first work unit I've been assigned is too complicated. Now after about four days it seems that the latter is the case, fortunately Smile | :)

With only 1 WU completed, I have a higher score (239) than some donators with 5,6,7 and even 11 WUs completed!

Anyway, the CP team is already ranked 522[^]. Happy folding! Smile | :)

PS: Does anyone else experience the tooltip bug that the Windows version (not the screensaver) of the F@H application is causing?

I have just bought a new cellphone yesterday, the SonyEricsson T610 Clickety[^] Cool | :cool:

and all I can say is that it is a really really nice toy, and the first fast SonyEricsson phone I've seen. Smile | :)

Although it has a passive display (unlike T630) the image is brilliant thanks to the resolution of 128x160 pixels and 64k colors, when I compare it to my old T300. At least I have something to play with for a few days/weeks. Big Grin | :-D

Congrats! Recently I got T630 (black) its cool too. Hey checkout www.myt610.net for all the themes and ringtones you can download and transfer it to your mobile using bluetooth/infrared. Yes, previously I had the T300 and I built my own infrared adapter for my desktop PC from scratch, because I couldn't get anything reasonably priced around here. That is, I thought it was stupid buying some kind of USB/IrDA or Serial/IrDA adapter when the motherboard already has the IrDA pins, and I built my adapter for 15% of their price. Doesn't have a fancy look but works fine. Smile | :)

And it's a perfect thing to transfer all kinds of data, I was able to backup my whole contact list from T300 including the pictures into a standard business card file and transfer it back to the T610. I have also been playing with float's mobile agent to manage the address book and SMS on the T300, etc, etc. And it also allows me to use my phone as a wireless modem in case my internet connection fails. Smile | :)

IrDA on the current mobile phones is priceless Smile | :)

I didn't have a chance to try the bluetooth, as I have no other devices supporting it.

Wow! that cool that you build your own irda devices..

I had the option to go for idra or bluetooth, but i prefered bluetooth coz of its wireless in nature and i dont have to keep the phone in the line of sight of the irda adapter.

I am planning to write my own software that will manage the content of the device, there are hell lot of things you can do with the device while connected to the pc, like composing and sending sms from the pc.

It isn't that hard at all, you can buy an IrDA transceiver in a single chip (TFDS 4500) and you just need to solder it together with few wires and a resistor. I can send you a picture if I find one. Smile | :)

Yes, that's for sure, but my old T300 didn't have the bluetooth anyway. Smile | :)

Thanx for the link, yes i guess it should work with t610 series also coz the main page shows T610 connected to the software..

Hi Rado, somebody visited the page. It was me, and I'm still here Most Linux distributions come with all the software a PCuser needs, so luckily you don't have to install new applications too often.
