You're setting contrast1-border twice. I think you wanted to set contrast2-border instead.
It's near the top of the file, after the place where you set theme 1, 2 and 3.
Also, the font size for <h1> and <h2> are the same at 29, while <h3> is 19. Seems to me <h2> should be 24. In point of fact, The font sizes should probably be percentages of the body's font size. I was playing around and determined that if you left the font size at 14, you could start at 200% for h1, and go down 20% for each subsequently smaller header.
Finally, the font-weights for headers in articles would (I think) look better if they were set to 400.
Can we override styles in articles?

Your 'solutions' are voted down for a reason you don't understand (really?). Somebody else votes up all those answers for a reason I don't understand. You post a gripe here suggesting some kind of abuse is occurring. The Q&A seems to be operating normally.

Bulk down votes (any down vote to 1) without any comments are not ok from my point of view, that's
why I voted up for some of his down voted answers.
BTW: I also don't like the standard answers, and gave him then and when a low vote. But any time I did this, I wrote a comment showing that it was me and explained why.
Furhtermore I see a big improvment that he explains the problem or give some hints first, before the standard answer follows.

We all have our own point of view but it is possible the votes are a genuine attempt to send a message without entering into further argument. The reason for the vote down is probably quite clear. Anonymous voting is still a good system in my opinion.
What is unfortunate is when a question is a poor question but still receives an answer that is completely generic and only qualifies as comment. When that answer gets voted up with a comment added "+5" then I like many others feel things are headed in the direction of a small group of people who are regulars in Q&A and not in the direction of quality.

Would it be possible to see votes done by other moderators ?
The purpose is to learn how other moderators see/rate a given article.
If blind vote is to prevent people from simply voting the same as other moderators, I understand, but at least seeing details of votes after own vote is interesting (to me).

Thinking more about it: No it makes no sense. We should be able to vote by ourselve, based on the presented Facts.

I just wonder why moderators can't add a comment to a blog submitted for moderation. The message appears "Comments are only available once an article is submitted for publishing". The possibility of comments by moderators on unpublished blogs would seem useful.

I can't remember the specific blog submission that prompted me to post this. However in my opinion most comments by moderators (to authors) which apply to other submissions apply to blogs. At present the blog is approved or not and if not there is no opportunity to provide specific information to the author about why such as for example poor grammar and spelling. There are also comments such as 'You may wish to consider posting this as an article' or other suggestions for improvements. Articles and tips have not for publication comments so why not blogs? Naturally if a moderator posts a comment a discussion may follow.

Using Chrome. When I hover over the 'articles' menu, it drops down with a big green 'Create' button, but as soon as I move my pointer over the menu, the add button vanishes and it's back to the old list of categories.

Yeah - that's on the list.
For me I just hover over it, it disappears, then I hover over it again and it sticks.
I'll try and find some beer to help me debug that one.

I just found a message with its content modified to "Message currently under review", false-positively.
It was a totally legitimate comment on the page of my article Microtonal Music Study with Chromatic Lattice Keyboard.
The message is of September 05, 2017, around 17:50 EST. The content is preserved in my e-mail messages.
And now I can see two flagged messages prior this one. It's also possible to be false-positive.
