What's new at CodeProject

In case you were wondering

I thought I'd write up a few lines on what's been going on behind the scenes at the Code Project. The main thrust of the work in the last week has been in upgrading the comments scripts. They are OK - but no where near as easy to use as possible, so Uwe and I have been working on them with a view to making them even more rewarding to use. Other updates include:

  • The Lounge has been tweaked a few times so that when you click on a topic, you actually get that topic (amazing!).
  • Within the articles posted at the Code Project there are a lot of healthy discussions going on, but no one really gets to see them. I've opened a window on the homepage into the article comments so you can see more of the action going on within the site.
  • The Latest Updates page has been tweaked to show articles that have been added, updated, and moved. Often an article goes through all these phases so it's sometimes handy to be able to see this.
  • I am finally starting to move some of the Unedited articles over into the main sections. Sorry about the delay!
  • Article authors are now notified more elegantly of new messages and message replies added to their articles' discussion thread
As always if you find anything weird and wonderful happening that you think probably ought not to be happening, then please let me know. If you were wondering why the site was down on the evening of October 3, it's because a car inconveniently crashed into a power pole outside the building hosting the site. At least no one was in the elevator when it happened :)
