I have done a diploma in .net and recently I had an interview for .net (software developer) and sap trainee too.

I havent done sap courses, but still I got selected.
I selected for both job Software development and sap trainee with the same salary.

Now I am confused.
Which should I select? Which is the better career option.

I am good in coding and I like coding but sometime I feel bored.
Please help me which career path should I go for.
I am looking for a happy life with good job and good salary, tension free work.
I have heard that coding is very boring when we propoted to a higher position(senior software developer).

Is sap has better career scope or software developer has better career scope?(with respect to salary and life).

I am a hardworking guy.please help.

Edited for Grammar and Readability.

From my long experience: nobody needs "coders", even it someone thinks so.
Real-life work needs designers and engineers producing good code.

If you feel bored about coding, you're certainly not good at it.

You cannot teach software development if you're not doing real software development.

You cannot do really good software development if you're not teaching software development.

Which is better carrier option? If you're asking about the option the way you do (you ask about better salary and promotion without expressing any interest in work itself), if you think that an answer will help you to choose... probably -- none of them.

Take it easy.

"You cannot do really good software development if you're not teaching software development."
Hmmm... Really?

Depends on what's "really good". In my opinion, makes real sense in real life.

The drive of this statement is certain experience put in the base of education system. Not my idea. In original version it was "science" instead of "software development". I don't see principle difference in the context.

So True.

Dalek,
Thank you for a confirmation. I was waiting is there is somebody who really understands the software development and the teaching. :-)
Dear Friends
In My view
Everybody is needed and will be in need in future too
Developers as well as Designers. Engineers cannot perform their work without labors!!!

Without any software development work there is no need for designers and engineers. Actually a software developer is also an engineer- Definition of engineer -"One who is trained or professionally engaged in a branch of engineering"

Now speaking about Good career path
Each person have an inborn talent if you are moving against it you wont be successful irrespective of field chosen whether its SAP/ software development

Find the job which gives you most satisfaction. Do it with your full efficiency, don't associate it with money. If you are happy very happy then all other thing will automatically come to you. Money only have a small role in life.

"The Monk Who Sold His Ferrari"- By Robin Sharma Is a nice book which will really help you

You did not get my point.
A coder can not be a coder. This person should understand the work well beyond the code.

"Engineers cannot perform their work without labors!!!" makes no sense, as if engineering work was not about labor.
Coding is a part engineering work, but only if it is considered in wider sense.

Now, there are coders who try to limit their understanding to just coding. There are leaders who try to use coders in a team without making sure there is a good understanding of bigger picture -- they are all losers.

No, nobody needs coders.
One can enjoy like anything if we like coding. It's bad rumor that you heard like if we move to higher position you can get bored of coding.

Both are very good in their respective domains(.Net and SAP).

Better choose for SAP as it is encroaching every major industries now.

Cheers!

Why are you answering a question that is nearly two years old?
You must not take notice of what others think of what you need to do.
The decision must be yours, and yours alone.

Do what you need to do to make your life easier, but remember that job satisfaction is more important than salary.

If coding makes you bored, then I wonder why you studied it.
There are other career choices out there, and if start now you will not have to get bored for the rest of your lives.

You need to grow a spine and take a risk by making your own decisions. People did it all the time before the internet happened.
