Updating gridView that is populated by dropdown list

Could any one please give me a code to get away on this problem i have. my gridView is populated by the value of a dropdown list, Please good progreammers I really need this.

What have you tried?
Don't stress the urgency: It may be urgent to you, but it isn't to us. All that your stressing the urgency does is to make us think you have left it too late, and want us to do it for you. This annoys some people, and can slow a response.

what u mean by populated by drop down? Are you showing record based on dropdown selection??

I suspect you want to use the update command in gridview but it's not working because you use a dropdown list? If this is correct then I have the same issue but I found this helpful although I didn't quite undertand it...
DropDownList as ItemTemplate within a GridView with an ObjectDataSource updating a database - you'll find it in code project - just search.

on the row_editing event
do this
(drpsitename)is dropdown and grd[purchaseorder is the grid
DrpSiteName.SelectedItem.Text=grdPurchaseOrder.Rows[e.NewEditIndex].Cells[5].Text;
