Good day everyone, i am creating a personal information module on my project, the information of the personnel can be printed on a personal information sheet, my question is this, how can I retrieve the photo/image from the database of the personnel on the personal information sheet? The report is made on crystal report 2008.

Can you please elaborate and add some more details to question. The solution below just lists out links that you can find yourself on Google.

That wasnt a solution. Its just how to use Google to find things. You didnt even care to ask what backend the person is using. That solution is extremely broad and out of scope.

Infact the question itself doesnt have proper instructions on what is wanted.

OMG! My point is that this question gets asked all the time and the answer can be found using Google. Based on the key words that were included in the question, I did several searches to provide links for different type of solutions.

Good that you took back your words.

Please mind your language.

What's the point if you just Google and paste links that cover such a broad area and are not specific to the question. Anybody can do that. You links include,, Sql Server and one also involving web-pages which in this case it not required at all.

This would have been completely acceptable, had it been a suggestion or a comment. How can you provide a solution to a question that is not clear itself.

My 5! for providing the possible options/links that should help OP. Even though OP has not shared his specific issue, above answers covers quite good knowledgebase to start of.

Thank you Sandeep.

And what about the language Mr Sandeep. :thumbsup ???
It is sad that top experts cant do or rather dont do anything about it.

Spend some time here. CP gets a lot of questions that just ask of 'how', 'give code', etc from users who rarely spend even 5 minutes trying to work on it. They fail to post what they have tried, share any effort if made.

There are rules on how to post a question that is totally ignored. People do get direct and good response if user asks specific issues and share their effort. Not just it, if the question is totally absurd then others do ask to put more detail on it. So, you should watch, observe and then speak up something instead of accusing others based on one question.

Thanks for your comment. Good day.

Now I can see the difference between Stackoverflow and Codeproject. If the whole point is just to "start of" and not solve a question, I would still think it should go as a comment and not a SOLUTION. I can guess how experts have been scoring easy 10 points for pasting overly out-of-scope links. No wonder. Its like the competition who pastes links first.

My 5! I don't see anything wrong with solutions that are links from Google searches. I do that on my answers most of the time. Besides, why bother making a long explanation and code snippets when there are those who have done it already. It defeats the purpose of the term Quick Answers if you ask me.

Solution 2

i just retrieve the photo from the database and on my dataset on crystal report I just set the data type into base64Binary and drag the field on y report. Thanks a lot! Cheers!

I just found this page by searching CP. Those links are EXACTLY what I needed to see.

Thanks Soren! And the rest of you, lighten up a bit. Sometimes a list is all that is needed. Seemed to work for the OP as well!
