Solution 1

Local database means,they reside on the local system.
Suppose u installed SQL Server into ur lappy or PC,then it's local database will be at ur lappy or pc.U can access ur local database by providing . or .\ into sql server connection string.Then userId will be by default-sa and password will be-As u entered when setup was running.

It could be, depending on how you implement it have a read of the sqllite website http://www.sqlite.org/
