for a website that will go live? Or is it better to use an 'Empty' MVC project?

I'm asking just in case the internet template project has any "bad" code that may otherwise slow down the project or have security flaws.

I usually like 'empty' projects to starts with. But depends upon your requirements and time you have. The template will give you jump start and platform to build upon.
