How DICOM images can be seen through web browser ?

Dear Sir,
I am trying to develop an WEB application using ASP.NET to view the DICOM Images through web browser.

There is a remote server on which DICOM files are kept at a specific location. I want to see them remotely.

It is not possible to carry the desktop application with me anytime.
So I am thinking to develop such web application through which it will be easier to see the DICOM images.

I need your help. Any special DLL or component or tools is needed ?
How can I start. Please give me a push.

You are requested to suggest the things and provide guidance.

Your starting point is a library to convert the DICOM images to PNG or similar, or a plugin written in silverlight, assuming there's silverlight versions of libraries like the Atalasoft DICOM library, which will cost you $5k plus, but which is very good at extracting images from a DICOM file, as well as the tags. DICOM supports over 20 types of compression, many of which are not commonly supported. Very few are a standard PNG or JPEG.
