Something like this is complex and takes time...To not only take the time and effort to do it, but to also post it as open source here on the code project shows alot. Thank you for your contribution. It is much apreciated!

Hi Pablo,
Thank you for your message and yes it takes time to make K3DSurf and to maintain it but it's always a plaisure to know that it can be useful for someone else...
Also, Thank you also for your vote

Hi all,
This is the result of more than 6 months of work and I hope you'll enjoy it .
The article is not yet a true one but you have to understand that the code is now too big and it's impossible to explain here all techniques used and my english is too bad. Also, I didn't use OpenGl, so all the 3D graphing is implemented from the 2D drawing...a book in inforgaphy is your best way to understand how this can be done.
For those who are trying to stop this project by there bad votes, I have to say: this is my response to you, a new better K3DSurf version ...it's too late.
Those who like it can do some help by giving theres votes (yes it's important for this project, not for me) and by sending bug reports, suggestions and wishes to me or thoses maintainers who are making binarys for other OS (Linux, Mac, BSD...)
This project is still under heavy work and the main purpose is not reached yet.
Keep watching...you're warned
Thanks,
Taha

Hi all,
First I want to say thanks to all the people who help me to
keep on K3DSurf by using it, by sending me suggestions,
wishes or by giving there votes.
I want to mention that binary packages with install/uninstall
program for Win and Mac are available here (http://sourceforge.net/project/showfiles.php?group_id=142839)
and also to say that the vote of some moron will not stop the development of this program: For instance, the vote 68 was 0.
For those of you who think that this proram is worth more than 0, I'll say that it's time for you to give your vote and defend what you like. This is not only about the competion thing but, and above of all, this is about your engagement with the Open Source Software: passivity doesn't help us to defend your right on the OSS under Windows.
Thank you for your understanding.

I gave you my 5, not for the article but for the program. It is a great program, I just wish I could write one that good. I do not know who gave you the 0, but I think they where just grading it as an article. It is more of an introduction than an article, but I do not care. Because it is a great program and the link makes up for that.
Keep up the good work,

Thank you John for your message and vote . I'm sure you can write good programs, the only question is: how much energy you're able to put on such effort? For me it works because I like both Math and Infos so I stoped to count hours long ago. I also don't hesitate to ask question even if they may sound stupid. I'm aware that the article is far from being perfect but I have to say to those craying babys that rather than rating by 0 they have to ask, kindly, for more informations. We are here primary to share ideas and experiences so respecting others work is not a choice, it's a rule. My message was especialy for Windows users to be more actif on the OSS: There is much more to discover for them.

Keep in mind that this could have been a noob also who though that the lower the score the better....like a 1 is better then a 10 know what I mean?

You're right this is also one possibility...the only thing is that it happened where the score was reaching the first place at good speed. I'm not sure but I was thinking that someone else was counting too much on winning the first place! I can say it again and again : This article doesn't deserve the first place but the software on itself is good enought to compete for it.
Anyway, I received a LOT of wishes which are far more grateful for me than winning any price (with my respect to the CodeProjet competition). So continue to give me your idea, suggestions and experience with K3DSurf and I'll be the happyiest programer in the world
Thanks.

This is one of the coolest piece of code I have ever seen

Thanks Nardis Andrea . I'm surprised because the score this morning was 4.82 and now, with only 3 votes, it drop to 4.72. This mean that excluding your score, at least one of the two others was a very bad score (someone, didn't like it at all ).
Never minde, I'm working hard on it for you and others who like it

i have been writing lot of tools for my company, most of them are in mathematical in nature. Belive me this is one of the most wonderful pieces of work i have come across, really nice work. I can understand the hard work you might have put into it, and that can not be justified by score given by someone, who just takes a second to judge all the amount of work you put in. Keep it up.

Thanks for your message and it's an honor for me to hear that from a profesional person like you . It's always a pleasure to know that someone has find something good in K3DSurf because i can imagine what he felt when looking on theses mathematicly designed objects... They look simple, beautiful but mysterious and all this work is just an attempt to respond to this question: why?
Thank you again and to all others who gave there vote and/or sent a message.

It seems that k3dsurf.cpp and k3dsurf.h are missing from the src zip file. Very cool app! Nice job.
I am thinking about switching from MFC to Qt for my GUI code and would love to hear your thoughts on Qt.

Hi Mike,
Thanks for your appreciations. K3DSurf source code contain two files that describe
it's GUI : k3dsurf.ui and k3dsurf.ui.h Theses two files, when compiling, will generate the 2 missing files plus some others related to Qt signals/slots (how the
GUI will act when you use it). k3dsurf.ui is an XML description of the GUI that is generated by Designer a really cool tool that come with every Qt package. Creating
powerful GUI with it is simple (it's equivalent under windows is, for example, VB) and it take care of all components behaviors.
there are two others reasons why every one should at least try this tool once:
1) it's under GPL licence : you can use it for free, and share your work with others without any limitation (like what I'm doing with k3DSurf). If you want to sell you product, then you have to pay some money which is logic.
2) it's cross platform : K3DSurf was designed under Linux but it works under Windows and Mac.
There are so many forum related to Qt where you can ask questions (ex. : http://www.qtforum.org/) .Also, the best way to get in Qt, is to read a book (there are some for free in PDF format).
Well there is much more to say about Qt but I have to mension that QT is not the only GPL GUI...there is also GTK, another excellent cross platfrom GUI and again, it has all you need but it's a little bit more "hard" to code.
Hope this introduction was clear enough.
see you
Taha
