C# .NET Core 3.0 and Log4net with Email Alerts

An example which is an update extending the log4net class and adding an SMTP Appender class to send alert emails for fatal errors, utilizing the log4net.config file.
Log4net out of the box provides a complex framework for logging C# .NET Framework applications. With the advent of .NET Core, in order to use log4net, there are a few adjustments unique to the log4net framework to note. The immediate issue is the SMTP Appender library native to log4net no longer works. In this post, I demonstrate a feasible workaround which will allow you to use a public email account to send error log emails (i.e., from a Gmail account to Yahoo account).
