I believe you can run TDL on a Mac under Wine.

I tried Wine but I couldn't make it work, I couldn't even really figure out what the hell I was doing with it. Guess I need to look for a good Wine tutorial first. I am back doing some windows work inside my VM so can for now, run ToDoList in there. Would love to crack the OSX nut though and get it running on OSX.

Sorry for the strange title of the posting, but I don't know the right wording ...
Maybe already a standard feature, but I never thought about it:
Some software applications (like Word, AutoCAD) can work with "external referenced files". There is a main-file ("master.tdl") and some sub-files ("sub1.tdl"; "sub2.tdl"; "sub3.tdl").
All "subs" are normal, standard TDL files which can be used and edited.
The "master" only contains "links / references / attachments" to the "subs" and displays them all.
Is it possible?

Hi Pierre
Do you mean/know of Tools - Export Tasks... Export to one file?

No. This would be the second-best solution.
I want to open "master.tdl" and all referenced TDLs are loaded and merge dynamically in this master-file.

Just wanted to make sure
Has been asked several times before, I think.
Let's just see what Dan has to say ...

Can you describe in more detail how this will benefit you? I don't see an obvious business case.

That's the difficult part of the story
I'm going to start some similar projects which I want to administrate with TDL. My idea was / is to create a separate TDL-file for each project - same basic structure and same attributes, but of course different contents. So I can handle, edit, save, backup each file in / with its project, and the file-size will stay acceptable. To get an overview of all running projects I would use the "master-file" mentioned above.
- But in another way I could create one big TDL-files which contains all projects and I use filters and so.
- Or I will use different files, but use the feature "Export to one file" (mentioned above, too).
So this master-file-idea could help sometimes, but it is not an "absolute must" and maybe other features are more useful. Was only a question if it is already possible.
Regards
Pierre

... the option does not work in some tasklists, for example
DV-1trouble.tdl
Can you be more specific about what is _wrong_?
I'v enabled hide collapsed tasks, but filter doesn't work..
plz try with my ini file ToDoList.ini
To reproduce bug, tasklist from my previous post should inherit settings of ..DV-1trouble.tdl from ini.

Strange, it works for me in 6.5.10 and 6.6.beta using both your .tdl and your .ini.
Steps to reproduce:
-------------------
* Create a task and name it as "t1"
* Under "t1" Create a subtask and name it as "s1"
* Click "s1" and Select "split selected task into two (2) equal subtasks" from New Task tab
* In List view and tree view, tasks and subtasks displayed are "t1" "s1" "s1" "s1"
Expected Result: "t1" "s1" "s1" "s1" should be displayed in Calendar view
Actual Result: "t1" "s1" "s1" alone displays in Calendar view
Can you also tell me what dates you assign to 't1' and 's1'?
All tasks and subtasks were created and assigned the same date as 11/02/2013

After naming the tasks and subtasks in reverse order(from bottom to top in the tree),run time error occurs during Automation Testing.
Error in identifying path
Window("ToDoList(c)AbstractSpoon").WinTreeView("Body").Select"Task;Task;Task"

I'm not quite sure what you want/expect me to do.
Steps to reproduce:
-------------------
* Create a new task, name it as "Parent"
* Create a subtask under "Parent", name it as "child"
* Click on the subtask "child", the task name "Parent" is displayed in the Title column header
* Rename the task "Parent" as "New" and click on the subtask "child"
* Expected Result: Now the name of the task should appear on the Title column header as "New"
* Actual Result: Instead the old name of the task "Parent" appears on the Title column header

Thx, I must not be refreshing the task 'path' after changing the child's parent's name.

Hi Guys,
Amazing to see To Do List has been revived!
With all the new options, it has become really brilliant.
Just installed 6.5.10 and enjoying it!
One thing though, apparently minor but for me it's BIG: The Due Tasks window now blocks the screen. In the previous version I used, I always dragged it on top right of my screen and used it as reference for the whole day.
Now I can't do it and that ruins the whole idea
May I suggest a couple of improvements you may consider for this list?
a. make it independent so it doesn't block screen and will remain there even if the main window is minimised.
b. Make it "remember" its size and position.
c. Make a (setup) option to show due tasks from ALL loaded task lists, not only from the active one.
It would make life SOO much nicer!
Thanks heaps,
Cat
