Hello friends! Someone should help me out of this stuff because I have done some research but couldn't it work. I have sql database with a table named logi with username, salary, location and password as the field names. In my asp.net webform, I have four textboxes with ids txtusername, txtlocation, txtsalary and txtpassword and a label control to display wrong password or username message if wrong password or username is entered. Now, the challange I'm facing is how can I query the database for a registered username and password, then display location and salary in their respective textboxes( i.e txtlocation and txtsalary) when the Display button is clicked?. Any help will be appreciated!!!

ok. I have done with the help of DataTable. When your enter the user and password is correct some information return data base like that location and salary and showing in respective TextBox. I write some code for better you understand
First Step: Query write in store procedure select location,salary from logi where Username=@userName and Password=@Password. This query return information when the your Username and password is correct.

Hi,
I am using JQuery/Uploadify plug-in to upload multiple files. This works fine if the .aspx page is in the root folder, but not if it is in a subfolder.

I have tried using ResolveUrl in the MasterPage, but it didn't seem to work; though my syntax may have been wrong.
In IE, as the code stands, the Flash upload button does not appear, and right-clicking where it should be reveals the message: "movie not loaded"
I hope this is in the right forum.
Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

if you get movie not loaded, I think that means uploadify can't find the swf path or file.

Thanks jkirkerx. There was a missing '/' before scripts/uploader.swf (the scripts folder is in the root directory, not the current one.)

Hi friends! Please I seriously need your help over this stuff. I am creating a chat application where registered clients can send friend request to other registered clients. This is where I am confuse and my question is
I want this application to allow registered clients to send friend request and accept friends request. I don't need the code, but just how to go about with this. I am using asp.net as front end and sql server 2005 as back-end. Any help will be accepted!!! Emmanuel

You will need to store all requests somewhere. Users will not always be online to see friend requests.

Well thanks alot, your answer got me thinking. Please, where can I store the friends request? Is it in database and how can someone send friend request? Just for example, if John and James are registered, how can any for them send friend request? Please any help will be helpful!!!

Hey experts,
I've got a CustomValidator wrapped inside a repeater, which is wrapped inside an if condition.
When the condition is not met the code is not generated (I verified it using the browser's view source screen).
However, the server function which validates the TextBox fires anyway, and it shouldn't.
I realize that the following is a very simplified code, but I figure there's a concept I'm not aware of.

why we use Interface for developing a consistently changes system?
Generally we uses Interface for multiple inheritance. We can Implement multiple interface in same time from a class. In Interface We declare a method and define that method in our class.
In general, we use Interface for developing a consistently changes system.
My question is, why we use Interface for developing a consistently changes system? Is there any advantage? if yes then please tell me .
In constantly changing system if we add a new method in interface the we have must define it in child class of that interface. this is too much laborious.so what are advantages?

First of all we will not use interface only for multiple inheritance support. Mainly Interface represent a service contract. One of more classes can implement that contract. One of the main advantage of Interface is code abstraction. You can isolate your code implementation details and client who use the code depends on the interface not the actual code. The benefit of this approach is when any implementation policy change then client will not affected. Another benefit is run time you can switch implementation if you write interface based program. Strategy design pattern is an example. Unit testing, Interface play very important role. if you properly write and run unit test then you need to create mock object. Without Interface you can not create mock object and with out mock object you can not test your code with proper isolation.

I'm converting an MVC4 site to MVC5. Anytime I try to name a View with a . I get a messagebox saying it contains invalid characters. I've Googled it to no avail.

Been trying to use a non-default theme in a OOB MVC4 application (from the VS MVC4 template, no other modifications at all). I've been trying the "le-frog" theme from jqueryui.com[^].
Modified the "BundleConfig.cs" as suggested to include the line below (file exists at specified location and can be accessed over the webbrowser)

The page loads without applying any CSS, even though I can see the stylesheet with "view source";

I'm looking for an easy way to switch themes, any alternative solutions to the default theming-structures would be welcome too.
