Do you have a bin directory ? What version of .NET are you using ? Does the message say that, even if you load the page in question ? Is the breakpoint in an actual page ?

Also check whether Terminal Service is Running.
Debugging requires Terminal Service. Check whether it is running or not.

In my page, while page load short description of some articles displayed. when i click the viewmore link the large description of the corresponding article is enabled. This div also has another one linkbutton for view comments. If first i click viewmore link means the large description is displayed.Next i click the viewcomments link means again the short description is displayed. I try to use updatepanel for this. but no solution.

You probably need to rephrase your question and explain what you are asking clearly.

what i have understood your question..
you are trying to hide and show div..to do this you will have to use javascript function to hide and show div and
you will load both short and detaild description.. on page load or according to your logic.

The hide and show functionality working properly. Actually what i need is
"During pageload it first displays the short description then when i click viewmore link that shortdescription div disabled and large description div enabled. now i click the viewcomments link means b'coz of the page refreshment the shortdescription is enabled and that largecontent div disabled. but it doesn't.

The updatepanel will work fine, if inside it, you create events that create a postback and update the content of the page. A better solution, is to generate your own javascript, which would give you more control and make it more responsive.

MsgBox Err.Description
End If
Dim obj as Variant
obj = soapClient3 .Get_People()
If Err <>0 Then
MsgBox Err.Description

Whatever methods you may call, they have NOTHING to do with ASP.NET.
VB6 is rubbish and unsupported, you should consider moving if you can

Hello.
I wanna make a text with an editor on web pages.
and I found a lot of things related to text editor.
For example, FCKeditor , ckeditor, tinymce, wisywyc and so on.
But, I really don't know how to create and use them.
I wanna see source codes about them.
but there is no any source code. it just was showing the feature or something.
Even I downloaded a file including source codes with Ajax.
but it doesn't work in VS2005.
If there is a good open source or something and you know the step about how to create and code them,
please let me know..
I really feel heavy in my chest..because I'm a beginner for asp.net..
Thank you...

Have you tried their documentations?

ASP.NET AJAX? Make sure you have AJAX server extensions installed.

Hi,
I have a rather unique issue. I have developed a Windows Forms application that basically records information such as employee name and employee number and writes it to SQL. Now I have started with a web application that can access the same information via a DAL. I have configured security using the default ASP.NET membership provider and role provider. The project has also been configured to use Client Application Services which means that you can login to the Windows Application the same way as you login to the web application.
My problem is that if Person 1 login to the application then all the information for Person 1 needs to be displayed. Currently You have your login credentials by way of registering but there is no link from the security database to the application database.
Any suggestions as to how I can achieve a working model of this?
Thanks!!

Hi,
In aspx.cs file: We can put the comments using // or /* */
In aspx file: <!-- --> used for client side code, <%-- --%> for server side code.
Is this the way only?
Any best practise from performance perspective i.e. which type of comment to be used to put less load on server?
|
|
|
|
|
All your comments are stripped exactly the same. The big issue is, comments in your ASPX get sent to the client, too, which is a bandwidth issue. There's no 'high performance comments'.

<asp:templatefield headertext="Project">;
<edititemtemplate>
<asp:textbox id="cmbProject" runat="server" text="<%#Bind("EMP_NAME")%>">
<itemtemplate><asp:label id="Label4" runat="server" text="<%#Eval("EMP_NAME")%>">
Text box Label
Bind Bind
Eval Eval
Bind Eval
Eval Bind
I have used all the above 4 combinations. But no diffenrence. Same output functionality every time.
As per info, bind for edit+read, eval for read only.
But in actual both are doing same.
So anybody can tell what's the diff?

It used to be more verbose. I suspect that two shortcuts exist, and they work basically the same. I googled it when you asked this days ago, and couldn't find a better answer.
