What do you mean by drag drop ? To position your controls, put them in some css so they go where you want.

I have 4 html radio buttons. I want to select only one out of 4 controls. How I have to control this. We can do by giving same group name in asp.net control. What is the option in html radio button like group name of asp.net control. Thanks in advance

Exactly the same, actually. ASP.NET just uses those names to generate the names passed to the client. Whever you have a question like this, write an ASPX, run it and look at the html to see what ASP.NET does to get the result you want.

Hi Subra,
What Mr Graus suggested is somewhat like this ...
All ASP.NET control generates HTML control the time ASP.NEN control is rendered into browser. Therefore if you see the HTML generared from your ASP.NET page ..( by right clicking and selecting View Source in browser) you can see HTML code.
If you can write your code for ASN.NET web control, then follow the above process so that you can see what the code would be for HTML controls !!! And now write htnl controls accordingly
(FYI web control checkbox is converted as )
Hope it would be helpful.
Thanks,

I am not able to place radiobutton control in a proper manner. My table has five columns. In first column, there is a lable for question. From the second column I have to place 4 radio buttons for answers like (a,b,c,d - for choose the best one). In the second column (cell), I want to place my radio button. I place the control in between only. Though, I am not able to place for proper view. Please guide me. Thanks in advance

I am not sure of the issue here. You position stuff in tables by putting them in the right cells. Either way, you fine tune the position with css. What are you trying and what is wrong ?

Hi,
Select a control, then goto Format Tab(VS IDE)
Choose option Position.
Then Select PositionStyle as Absolute. Click on OK.
From DesignPage select a that control, hold it, and move to where ever you want.

Thanks Mr.Sekhar
As you told, If I set absolute position, it will display proper at deisgn time only. It is changing at run time.
If I select position as normal flow, then only I can give the proper position at run time.

Use Html table / ASP.net table and place controls as you required.

Your question doesn't made any sense to me. Are you getting the controls not aligned ? Follow W3C standards when designing.

Hi,
I am trying to grab XML contents using ASP.Net page . But i think i am not getting all the contents of XML but only half. I am using this code.
Response.ContentType = "text/xml";
Response.BufferOutput = true;
//Reads the request and load the string
StreamReader reader = new StreamReader(Request.InputStream);
StrDS = reader.ReadToEnd();
reader.Close();
Then i am putting into one XML file. But any body can guide whteher i am doing right or wrong here. According to specs of the server i should get the more contents.
Then i need to send some response to server like <success> tag. I am sending it but i don't want it to display on the Internet page. Becasue i am displaying some usefull data on it. Code i am using is.
Response.ContentType = "text/xml";
Response.Write("<ErrorList><Success>WEBAPP.dll/XMLPost</Success></ErrorList>");
Response.End();
But this text is always displayed. Can anu body tell me how to send the response without displaying it on IE page
Thanks
Shailesh

Hey guys i am not sure why but suddenly i cannot add controls to my webform.. i tried reinstalling but still not possible.

Check if the VS is in Debug mode.

How are you adding them ? You should really add them by typing, not by drag and drop. You're obviously doing somethign wrong.

I am not in debug mode.. but by typing the html element ,
<asp:button id="button1" visible="True" text="Button" xmlns:asp="#unknown" />
i notice that only the html controls can work
just that asp controls cannot.

You need to define 'work' Right now, I feel pretty sure you're doing somethign wrong, but are not explaining yourself well enough for me to know what it is

i got it to work but the result isnt what i was looking for. Meaning the asp controls did appear by typing in html. but it gives a fix location and i am unable to move it around at all.
I remember last week i was able to drag the control directly off the toolbox to the webform.aspx but now i cant.

Welcome to web development. If you do it in the designer, you can drag them about and it will generate css for you. It's far better not to do this, tho, the css that gets generated is not pretty, from memory.
Write css to position your controls.
