Wow - I'm not sure how to answer this and not be condescending.
A newletter is a simple email, the mail format has no way of setting that a mail is a newsletter. The obvious difference is that a newsletter is sent out typically to more people than an email.

I recommend that before you continue with your given task, you let whoever is asking you to do it, know that you have no idea what you're doing, and ask for some references/guidance. You're way too lost to get by just on help from strangers online.
HTML is incapable of sending emails. ASP.NET trivially sends emails, newsletters or otherwise.

Hey Chris,
I have a question in the above response.
Christian Graus wrote: ASP.NET trivially sends emails, newsletters or otherwise
If ASP.NET is not worthly, which mode you suggest to choose?
I have developed some Web Applications which normally mails every action to a set a users (depends on the group). I like to know some more ideas to improvise myself.

Trivial means without much effort. ASP.NET contains classes that make it really easy to send emails.

When I deploy my web application from file system to web application I get The remote name could not be resolved: <service name="">.
The web service request works perfectly fine when I execute the web application from file system, as soon as copy the web application to web site at IIS and launch I get Webexception. Can any one tell me the solution to get away with this.
I am using ASP.NET 2.0 with C# 2.0.

Where are you deploying it to, and how do you reference it ? It sounds like a DNS error....

I have deployed it on IIS 7.0 and then call the web service web methods which is in web reference. So please tell me how to resolve this issue.

You didn't really answer me. If the error is that a name cannot be resolved, I am assuming you reference the web service by a URL, which cannot be resolved, or something like that.

Hi All, I am very new to ASP.NET, I've developed a simple ASP.Net Project with only one page "DEFAULT.ASPX", and uploaded on the site using "PUBLISH TO WEB" option from Menu. But when I open the site, it gives an Application Error and gives me option to correct the "customerrors" tag. I've tried all option but it didn't turn up. please help me out Thanks

It's telling you that if you edit the custom errors property in the web.config, it will tell you the actual error. We can't really help until you do that ( the error is hidden from you )

Hi,
While debugging my web application I am getting following error.
Warning 1 Invalid search path 'C:\Program Files\Microsoft Visual Studio .NET\Vc7\lib\' specified in 'LIB environment variable' -- 'The system cannot find the path specified. '
What in the solution for it.
Thanks !

I would suggest you clean the solution, or close the solution and then relaunch the web application. this is the problem when your assemblies are not the latest assemblies.
Thanks,

Hi Deepak,
Its so simple to delete a particular row using GridView_RowDeleting command using cell index, its good to use DataKeyName when your gridview has two deletebutton column. here i am giving code to delete row on basis of cell index. if you want code of datakeyname then tell me.
Protected Sub GridView1_RowDeleting(ByVal sender As Object, ByVal e As System.Web.UI.WebControls.GridViewDeleteEventArgs)
Dim i As Integer = CInt(GridView1.Rows(e.RowIndex).DataItemIndex)
Dim rgncode As String = (GridView2.Rows(i).Cells(indexof regioncode column).Text).ToString
Dim cntrycode As String = (GridView2.Rows(i).Cells(index of countrycode column).Text).ToString
'Your delete command code gone here
GridView1.DataSource = 'name of datasource'
GridView1.DataBind()
End Sub

Hi,
What is the difference between Server.Transfer and Response.Redirect?
If possible please explain me with example.
Thanks to All in Advance.
|
|
|
|
|
difference between Server.Transfer and Response.ReDirect
1) Such as--Server.Transfer can not be used to go to a page of a different website whereas Response.Redirect can do.
2) Response.Redirect can be used for both .html and .aspx pages but Server.Transfer works only for aspx pages.
3) Response.Redirect needs a extra round trip...
Server.Transfer doesn't tell the browser to request page default2.aspx. It just sends page default2.aspx, so e.g., browser address bar still shows the original page's URL.
Response.Redirect sends message to browser saying that the browser should request some other page so basically it means that:
1. Browser is on page default1.aspx on which there is a Response.Redirect("") command which means that the server sends response (message) to browser that browser should request some other page default2.aspx
2. Browser sends request to server in order to get this page default2.aspx
3. Server sends page default2.aspx to browser
Roundtrip:
Roundtrip is the combination of a request being sent to the server and response being sent back to browser.
Request is the message that the browser sends to the server and Response is the message the server sends back to the browser.

one more....
Response.Redirect does not transfers the query string values and form values of the current page.
Server.Transfer allows you to transfer the query string values and form variables to other page. Best way to transfer values from one page to another using the preserveForm parameter of the Server.Transfer method.
