doh: Hello Everyone,
i have a small query regarding the image library.
i take an html Filefield which consists of txtbox and browse button.
When i click on the browse button the correspoding file path will appear on the textbox.
now again i take a webcontrol button1(say button1 name as preview)and imagebutton1.
So,now when i click on that button1 the filepath should appear as thumbnail on the imagebutton1. Once i get the thumnail image ,when i click on the thumbnail image its original image should appear i.e,largeimage(original image). This should be done by using C#.net in asp.net webapplication.
Can anybody plz help me in writing this code. plz send immmediately.
with regards,
balla.

There are people here who could help you with writing the code, but noone who will write it for you.
You have to at least make an effort to write something that resembles code before someone can help you with it.

What do you mean? Should I write applications for anyone who asks for it?
I give a lot of free advice, often without writing a single line of code, and often it's exactly what the person was looking for.

I wonder is anybody out there still not use frame to do website with ASP?
i found out many company website r in ASP file and when i try to change the logo on the header, i have to change the rest of the 100 page also!
Using Frame is much more easy so i just need to change the menu with that particular page only. That wat i do in my own website which not ASP but html.
OR anybody can tell me this is the ruls of ASP have to put the header menu on each of the page..?

Why you shouldn't use frames[^]
ASP.NET 2.0 has introduced Master Pages which are a great way of only having to change a header/footer of a page once. In old ASP, people used to use includes to have the header/footer information for each page stored in one .inc file.

Is there any way to display asp controls such as asp:TextBox... with Response.Write or any equal function?

I'm not sure about what you might want to do, so you may be more specific about your context, but here are a couple pf things that you might want to check:
+ Response.Write is normally used to send the result markup to the output stream of the Response object, and you may already know that the web server textbox control (asp:TextBox) renders as the input html element with the type=text, so you simply write out the input text html element to the output using the Response.Write:
Response.Write("<input type=text .....>");
+ You can get the rendered html markup of the textbox control using the TextBox.RenderControl method, then send the result to the output using the Response.Write method.

You've understood what I want to do and thank you for the answer.
My approach was bad by trying to write out the asp:TextBox control instead of Response.Write("").
Thanks again.

I have to create 2 buttons. A event handler is set for a button. For some reason, I need to pass the event handler into another button and remove the event handler from the first button.
I try to find something like "GetEventHandler" so i can call AddEventHandler in the second button, but the EventInfo provide none. Any help ?

I got a feeling that you are doing in a complicated way, IMO you might want to put some code in the event handler of the firt button and do a checking there. Denpending on the result checking, you can keep the execution going on or call the event handler of the second button instead. Another option is that you can dynamically add the event handlers for the button's events, and depending on some reason like you said, you can decide to add the event handler or not.

hi,
make a Dataview object from the dataset table like that..
DataView mydataview=(DataView) ds.Tables[0];
Now you can filter the dataview like that..
DataView.Filter='Put your condition here';
You can also iterate through your dataset,but better use a dataview.
If I have understood your problem then it can be helpful.
get in touch. ;P

Hi all,
I am using linkbutton in datagrid and ONCOMMAND event I collect row ID. This Id I am saving in Session("ID").I displayed this session("ID") by messagebox on same page.Everything goes fine,but when I redirect to another page and try to use session("ID") it gives nothing.
Sub Navigation(ByVal sender As Object, ByVal e As CommandEventArgs)
Session("ID") = e.CommandArgument
MsgBox(Session("ID"))
Response.Redirect("ResumeSearchDetails.aspx")
End Sub
///ResumeSearchDetails.aspx
Protected Sub Page_Load(ByVal sender As Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) Handles Me.Load
If Not Page.IsPostBack Then
MsgBox(Session("ID"))
end if
end sub
I hope you understand my problem.
Thanks.

Display the Session.SessionID in both pages, to determine if you lose the entire session, or just the single value.

Hi Guffa,
In both pages MsgBox(Session.SessionID) shows some value.

Some value or same value?

b { font-weight: normal; }

Not same value that are different alphanumeric values
|
|
|
|
|
Then you are loosing the session and getting a new session for the next page.
The browser has to accept sessions cookies for the server to be able to identify the user.
