Hi, need a little bit of advice.
I have a web app which consists of a user profile page, amongst others. When the user profile page is accessed I read the user's information into an object from a database and display it. If the user posts back on that page should I be re-reading the user's information each time or store the user object in a session variable?
Any advice is appreciated, thanks.

you can store the information in caching and retrive it

You should store it in Session variable.

hi all,
please help me in this , i creating a websteup project while installing in client machine the following conditions have to check ,
1)If SQL Server 2005,
then make sure to check the SMO version and suggest if there is any
mismatch. If appropriate SMO version is not found, then we can inform
the user and install that. If user says MySQL 5.1, then check if
appropriate driver dll file is found, if not raise an error and
suggest user where to get it.
2) If SQL Server 2005 is selected, then we need to ask if the database
already created or not. If created, then you need to ask for
servername(or ip), database name, port number, userid/password, then
go and create the required tables and insert the rows. If database is
not created, then you need to create database, create tables, insert
rows, etc., If we have to create database, then we need to ask Server
name (or ip adress), port number(default 1433), where the data file,
log file going to reside, database name, initial database size, dba
login credentials, etc.,
3) If MySQL 5.1 is selected, then we need to ask if the database is
already created or not. If created, then we need to ask for
userid/password, port number, database name, port number,
userid/password, then go and create required tables and insert the
rows. if daatabase is not created, then you need to create database,
create tables, insert rows, etc., If we have to creat database, then
we need to ask server name(or ip address), port number (default 3306),
database name, login credentials, etc.,
Please suggest me if any article is available in net i tried lot for this .but unable to find correct info .still trying....
any help please
Thhanks and regards,
Guru

Well, as per the other discussions says, this is a bug with the library. And they have provided a workaround by setting ActiveTabIndex = 0 from your code. Have you tried that?

Good Afternoon All
For you to help me and understand my problem, i will have to explain everything in details.
I have a usercontrol with a textbox. This textbox changes the values so am trapping the values on textchange and that is cool and working. I have set the textbox property to "Autopostback="true" in the usercontrol.
I have a Ultrawebgrid(Infragistics gridview version) on my Asp.net host page and now when the value of the textbox that i have trapped on textchange event changes, i want to bind the grid. I have method that is doing that , taking the value on textchange and assigning it method and the method will bind the Grid based on the value. Now to be safe i have exposed the propert of the textbox "Autopostback" from the usercontrol like this
public bool
TextBoxAutoPostBack
{
get
{
return
txtbxActvs.AutoPostBack;
}
set
{
txtbxActvs.AutoPostBack =
value
;
and on the host page i have made it true like this
<uc1:ActivityCtrl ID="ActivityCtrl1" runat="server" TextBoxAutoPostBack=true ActivityViewMode="Staff" KeepApart="false" OnLoad="ActivityCtrl1_Load" EnableViewState="true" />
And Here is the Photo to Explains what is happening

}
</script>
<input id="Hidden1" type="text" runat="server" onkeydown="return PrevFrKey2();" onkeyup="return PrevFrKey2();" style="font-family:Courier New; font-size:xx-small; font-weight:bold; color:Blue; width:10px;" />

Write only one event that is "onkeypress"
|
|
|
|
|
onkeypress can not recognize backspace and delete keys.
ARINDAM
|
|
|
|
|
The event.KeyCode for delete key is 46. Therefore you should change your if condition as
if (event.keyCode == 8 || event.keyCode == 46)
{
return false;
}

Hi,
I am new to asp.net, since i've created a simple project in asp.net2.0 and sqlserver2000,and hired space in webserver.But my problem is , i uploaded the precompiled version to the server space along with the database .When i typed my domain name it showed the error "Application Error '/'" .I tried to change the web.config property like Custom Error="On" but of no use, i also want to redirect to my home page by default.
Plz help
|
|
|
|
|
"On" specifies that custom errors are enabled. If no defaultRedirect is specified, users see a generic error."Off" specifies that custom errors are disabled. This allows display of detailed errors."RemoteOnly" specifies that custom errors are shown only to remote clients, and ASP.NET errors are shown to the local host. This is the default.
Use default redirect in custom error tag to redirect page to home page.

your question is not clear... where is it showing hexa value....
you are declaring int i = 16; are you displaying or reassigning it some where else....
