Hey guys
Ive got a problem
Ive got a gridview which has a textbox in one of the columns.
On my OnRowDataBound event I check 7 fields in a database and then which ever ones have data in I add a letter to the textbox, for example if two fields have data in I would add A and G.
The problem is at the moment I have 7 different if statements and each one adds a letter but they are overwriting the previous letter instead of adding to it, is there a way to add the letter to the textbox without overwriting the preivous.
I know the whole concept im describing does sound silly but trust me it makes sense when the app runs.
thanks in advance!

Find the texbox and append the text ? TextBox1.Text += "Your new Text"

just store the previos value in some temporary variable and set all to the text box at once.
or at the time when you are setting value at the text box consider existing value also eg
text1.text += text1.text + "a" (C# sample)

This question has nothing to do with ASP.NET. If you use flash, you embedd a flash file in the HTML for your page and ASP.NET will not interact with it. ASP.NET is obviously just an engine that generates HTML, so you can do anything like this you want to, but it's not an ASP.NET question, b/c the framework is on the server and cannot interact with the flash file, which is sent to the client seperately.

serialPort1.Write(buff, 0, 1);

So there is about 870,000 ways to do it...

hi...
recently i also worked on crystal reports....
crystal report is directly having the button print.. if u click that button obviously u`ll get the print i think u know very well.
the 2nd way is u can store the report in word or excel..and after that u can print that saved document.
when u click the print button on the crystal report, it will ask to select the printer. At that time u can select word or excel or any other format...
i think my reply will help you....
All the best...

in my code i am using two namespaces
using AxMapPoint;
using MapPoint;
no error in the code but getting this :
Error 1 The type 'System.Windows.Forms.AxHost' is defined in an assembly that is not referenced. You must add a reference to assembly 'System.Windows.Forms, Version=2.0.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=b77a5c561934e089'.
Please help me with this
Thank You
If You win You need not Explain............

Read the error message. Your linking to dlls that use windows forms ( which means their controls can't be used on a website ). If you're using them on the server only, to get some data and not to display it, add the reference it's telling you to add.

Problem can be resolved faster if you provide your XMLHTTP calling code. If you use MS XMLHTTP (in IE) I can suppose to check whether server XML response starts from "" directly, without leading whitespaces or BOM.
To resolve this issue in IE you can use following code (xmlhttp - created XMLHTTP object):
var TRIM_SYMBOLS = " \\t\\r\\n";
function trim (str_, trim_)
{
trim_ = (trim_ ? TRIM_SYMBOLS + trim_: TRIM_SYMBOLS );
eval("var str = (String(str_)).replace(/(^[" + trim_ + "]*)|([" + trim_ + "]*$)/g,'')");
return str;
}
...
function getXmlResponse(xmlhttp)
{
var doc = xmlhttp.responseXML;
if (doc.documentElement == null)
{
doc = new ActiveXObject("Microsoft.XMLDOM");
doc.loadXML ( trim (this.xmlhttp.responseText) );
}
if (doc.parseError && doc.parseError.errorCode != 0) {
var msg = "Error parsing XML: " + doc.parseError.reason +
doc.parseError.srcText + "\r\nURL: ";
throw new Error (doc.parseError.errorCode, msg);
return null;
}
return doc;
}

Well I'm guessing you arent a reguler user of the forum, because there are a lot of people who post messages without searching google first, the result that I posted in one of my replies to this post I found using google.
Maybe your username suggests what you actually are...
