I need basic play, stop, pause, next, previous functionality. What I'd like to do is map the buttons on the PPC (I'm using an IPAQ - with PPC 2003 Premium) to the buttons I have on my desktop app. One thing I thought of was running Terminal Services on my desktop and the terminal services client on my IPAQ. But that seems a bit of overkill when all I really need to do is have six or eight buttons on the PPC that emulate the buttons on the desktop. I don't need to see my desktop, I only need to remotely click a few buttons, similar to a handheld control for Powerpoint. Right now I'm just looking for direction on what libraries will likely be required. Will I need to create a TCP socket? Use the 802.11 capabilities of the PPC, the Bluetooth? I have a couple years of experience writing VB.NET desktop apps, concentrating on graphics or local XML files as simple databases. I'm considering this exercise an educational challenge to learn about mobile development and emulation. At the moment, though, I'm near clueless as to where I might start. TIA for any help. I was getting "file not found" message when trying to call the service and so I decided to try and run the webservice from the browser in the emulator. I am able to access the web service via the emulator's browser but when I try to invoke the hello world service, I get "the page you are looking for cannot be found" Might any one know what I am missing? Christopher Fairbairn22-May-07 16:10 Christopher Fairbairn 22-May-07 16:10  Hi, Have you looked into writing a file system filter as discussed in the Windows CE Team Blog in this posting http://blogs.msdn.com/ce_base/archive/2005/12/01/499052.aspx[^]? Directories are not opened, but searched. You would have to hook functions such as FindFirstFile et al which are called when an application wants to obtain a list of files within a specified directory. If you are wanting to "hide" or "remove" a directory. You would need to hook functions such as FindFirstFile to filter out the enteries related to the directory you want to hide.
