Hi, I'm working on windows mobile too recently, and come across the same problem
I haven't found a solution yet.
However, for temperately, you can wrote an additional exe to wrote the exact registry value into the registry.
you can look up into file “regext.h" and the Windows API RegEnumKeyEx RegOpenKeyEx etc.
hope this would help

Hi ,
Thank you for your reply.
I actually I have solved that problem.
Actually the problem was that the Primary output file(the mapirule.dll) which I am adding in file system of my cab file was kept at (C:\Program Files\Windows Mobile 6 SDK\Samples\Common\CPP\Win32\MapiRule\Windows Mobile 6 Professional SDK (ARMV4I)\Debug) whic is too much long path & having spaces also.
So I just kept my mapirule.dll at shortest path (d:\mapirule.dll)
and added this dll to my setup workspace..
and now I have compiled my workspace,cab file got created.
I hope this will help you also. This worked for me.
Thank you

Hi, I'm new to the forum, so please excuse me if this has been discussed elsewhere. Does anyone else feel a little "orphan" with the lack of support of Windows Mobile in the VS 2010 betas? Any news about it?
Should we still bet on WM?
Thx.
Luis.---

Support for mobile development is forthcoming. Remember that the beta is not a finished product.

I know, but it will be nice to hear something about this particulary sensitive topic nowadays.
Do you know how many betas can we expect 'til RTM? (this is scheduled for march, right?)
Thanks for your reply.

I don't know the RTM for Visual Studio 2010. I know that come March information on Windows Mobile 7 will be released. I can only assume they are working on Windows Mobile 7 related components for Visual studio and as such are holding off on releasing the components until they release information on Windows Mobile 7.

Hi,
First of all, excuse my poor English.
I'm writing an app which needs to connect to HTTP using the WAP connection, which is not the dafault connection in the PDA (WinMobile) network settings.
What I mean is, my app needs to connect using a connection which is not the default one.
¿Is this possible using C#?
Thank you in advance.

I have developed a CLDC application(has both .jar & .jad files) and tried it succesfully on Palm OS Emulator and Pocket PC Windows Mobile 5.0 emulator. When i tried with a CDC application(.jar files only) the application is not coming up. Only the message 'Loading CrEme..please wait' comes up and nothing. Any help on the issue? I sit because the correct JVM is not installed or something?

Hello!
I was able to do this in vb.net but in mobile development I haven't figured out how to check if an instance of a current application is already running. I couldn't find any sample code. The ones I have found didn't work out.
If you know it, I would appreciate if you submit the code.
Thanks.

Please has anyone used RedFiveLabs components?

I'm trying to use them - and there basic technology looks really good.
However... there are a few bugs - some of which are terminal - and from the looks of their support forum, they are not responsive - I'm even wondering if they are still actively supporting the product.
Would be good to know if anyone out there has good experience of them.

Hi,
I am having a strange problem when starting a process.
RepsApp is the entry point for the application.
AppHandler is essentially a class that is used to maintain a bunch of global variables.
public class RepsApp
{
static void Main()
{
AppHandler.frmMain = new FormMain();
AppHandler.frmMain.ControlBox = true;
AppHandler.frmMain.MinimizeBox = false;
AppHandler.frmMain.FormBorderStyle = FormBorderStyle.FixedSingle;
Application.Run(AppHandler.frmMain);
if (AppHandler.GetUpdates)
{
int processID = Process.GetCurrentProcess().Id;
Process p = new Process();
p.StartInfo.FileName = Path.Combine(AppHandler.GetAppPath(), "AppUpdater.exe");
p.StartInfo.Arguments = string.Format("{0} {1}", processID, true);
p.Start();
}
Application.Exit();
}
}
In the MainForm class I simply set AppHandler.GetUpdates to True and close the form
public class FormMain : System.Windows.Forms.Form
{
private void menuItemGetUpdates_Click(object sender, EventArgs e)
{
AppHandler.GetUpdates = true;
this.Close();
}
}
When the MainForm closes :
if AppHandler.GetUpdates is True the main application stays in memory after it launchs the AppUpdater process.
if AppHandler.GetUpdates is False the main application closes as expected.
Is there any reason why calling Process.Start would prevent the main application from closing?
Thanks,
David

Can you please provide more details about phone .net framework version etc?

I use VS2005, .NET framework 2.0, compact framework 1.1, nokia phone.

Are you using the Red5Labs component to allow your .Net program to run on the Nokia phone? (because otherwise it won't work).
