Hi, we have a standard SharePoint 2007 Intranet. I would like some users to be able to edit a document however they cannot see the Site Actions -> View All Site Content. I'd rather they don't have access to edit pages, what is the best way of providing this?
I've given them access on the file itself however when they open the document and edit and save it, a message appears saying the file is read-only. Can anybody please advise/help? Thanks
according to my knowledge
To allow user account to edit document without having permission, We can Stop Inheriting and add a group and give a Contribute level Permission to a group
Hope my answer would help you
site columns > create the column, once this is complete either go to
content type publishing hub or site content types in site settings and edit the content type there adding the column you have created
Once you done with Installation of SP2013 Server
Open SP Management shell using the farm service command
PSConfig.exe -cmd upgrade -inplace b2b -force -cmd applicationcontent -install -cmd installfeatures
now it will upgrade in 6 different steps in COmmand shell
Go to central Administration there you can see manage servers in Farm according to that you can apply patches in SP Server
I have a SharePoint Custom List Application that in some cases could go
Dashboard.aspx has a link that calls Editform_Gates.aspx with the following passing parameter values for record ID and SOURCE
The EditForm_Gates.aspx then has a couple links that call other pages to add/update children associated records
The problem I have is once you get to that third deep code if you hit cancel or save it does go back to the second page the EditForm_Gates.aspx but from there if you hit cancel or back it loses the SOURCE= from the first call and does not know where to go..
What is the proper way to do this and if any samples or examples are out there I would greatly appreciate it.
Thanks in Advance
Hi. Am sure this has been asked multiple times, but I can't find an answer. I have a main site, (project control). From there we will create sub-sites, project 1, project 2, project 3 etc. On project control I then want to list the projects so users will navigate to them from there.
At certain points in a project life the project will have its permission level changed so more people can view it, ie move from level 1 to level 2.
At this point I want the project control sheet to display all of the projects that the user that is logged on can see. eg project 1 and project 2 only, they don't have the rights to view project 3 (yet).
I have set up some permissions, (all by groups) and they seem to be working, (tested on sub-site folders and dependant on who is logged on different folders are becoming visible).
I have tried creating a list on project control, but all sites are listed, how can I get it to only show the relevant permissions.
Thanks in advance.
Are you certain it is not working correctly already. We are doing a similar thing simply using a TOC web part. The results are security trimmed so depending upon the login to the main page the sub-sites displayed will vary.
