Apologies for the shouting but this is important.
When answering a question please:
- Read the question carefully
- Understand that English isn't everyone's first language so be lenient of bad spelling and grammar
- If a question is poorly phrased then either ask for clarification, ignore it, or mark it down. Insults are not welcome
- If the question is inappropriate then click the 'vote to remove message' button
Insults, slap-downs and sarcasm aren't welcome. Let's work to help developers, not make them feel stupid.

For those new to message boards please try to follow a few simple rules when posting your question.- Choose the correct forum for your message. Posting a VB.NET question in the C++ forum will end in tears.
- Be specific! Don't ask "can someone send me the code to create an application that does 'X'. Pinpoint exactly what it is you need help with.
- Keep the subject line brief, but descriptive. eg "File Serialization problem"
- Keep the question as brief as possible. If you have to include code, include the smallest snippet of code you can.
- Be careful when including code that you haven't made a typo. Typing mistakes can become the focal point instead of the actual question you asked.
- Do not remove or empty a message if others have replied. Keep the thread intact and available for others to search and read. If your problem was answered then edit your message and add "[Solved]" to the subject line of the original post, and cast an approval vote to the one or several answers that really helped you.
- If you are posting source code with your question, place it inside <pre></pre> tags. We advise you also check the "Encode "<" (and other HTML) characters when pasting" checkbox before pasting anything inside the PRE block, and make sure "Use HTML in this post" check box is checked.
- Be courteous and DON'T SHOUT. Everyone here helps because they enjoy helping others, not because it's their job.
- Please do not post links to your question into an unrelated forum such as the lounge. It will be deleted. Likewise, do not post the same question in more than one forum.
- Do not be abusive, offensive, inappropriate or harass anyone on the boards. Doing so will get you kicked off and banned. Play nice.
- If you have a school or university assignment, assume that your teacher or lecturer is also reading these forums.
- No advertising or soliciting.
- We reserve the right to move your posts to a more appropriate forum or to delete anything deemed inappropriate or illegal.
cheers,
Chris Maunder

Hi All, Good evening.
The issue is related to SharePoint 2013. The size of 'WSS_Content' content database is 111 GB and consists of migrated SharePoint 2010 site collections via Sharegate. Now, i want to delete all the site collections without deleting the database. How do i do that?

Hi Friends,
Kindly answer to these questions
1. Can we migrate content database and site collections separately using sharegate?
2. Do we need to migrate only site collections in ShareGate without migrating a databases?
-Thanks,

is there a way to have that SharePoint List (Modified in InfoPath) field populate with the current user if someone else is later editing the item?
Note: Setting default value "username()" function only populates in Newform not in Edit form. any workaround?

Hello,
I have a standard search resultSearchWebPart.
I want to delete in my search duplicates on file names.
For that we must redo the query with the KeywordQuery.
I managed to get a result in a ResultTable variable without my duplicate files.
This code I put in the Render function, but then we need to develop the display in my webpart (writer).
My problem is that I can not replace the result of the current query in the standard view of my webpart (with the display template).
Do you have an idea how to replace the standard search query of my webpart by keeping the standard view. My goal is to remove duplicates on filenames.
ie: I do not want to redesign the my webpart to make it a fully customized webpart.

I have created an Office 365 Custom Web Addin. When I am running it is loading and working in Internet Explorer but not loading in Google Chrome, Any one can help?

Have you checked the requirements[^]?
Internet Explorer 11 or later, which must be installed but doesn't have to be the default browser. To support Office Add-ins, the Office client that acts as host uses browser components that are part of Internet Explorer 11 or later.

If you can't read my code, try converting it here[^]

As per my Knowledge,
Addins wont support in some of the browsers. Since we have to use other browsers to addins

Hi, we have a standard SharePoint 2007 Intranet. I would like some users to be able to edit a document however they cannot see the Site Actions -> View All Site Content. I'd rather they don't have access to edit pages, what is the best way of providing this?
I've given them access on the file itself however when they open the document and edit and save it, a message appears saying the file is read-only. Can anybody please advise/help? Thanks

this should be fairly straight forward, edit the library permissions, stop inheriting and then add a group that has contribute level permission,
if this is done at the site level the will have contribute permission to all the libraries including site pages and pages which will allow them to edit those respectively.

Great I was looking for this answer llong long time..
|
|
|
|
|
according to my knowledge
To allow user account to edit document without having permission, We can Stop Inheriting and add a group and give a Contribute level Permission to a group
Hope my answer would help you
