Match #4: South Africa Vs Zimbabwe
There was some rain earlier, a heavy shower for a short period but that cooled the atmosphere. Conditions all around was perfectly suitable for seamers - Pitch had some little covering of grass upon it. It was sure that whoever wins the toss would have bowled first. Taylor was found shaking his head in disappointment post toss that confirmed that SA would be bowling first.
Zimbabwe: 93/8 (20 overs)
South Africa: 94/0 (12.4 overs)
MOM: Jacques Kallis (for his 4-1-15-4)
Once again, Zimbabwe had a bad start and Steyn-M Morkel-Kallis used the conditions pretty well to keep Zimbabwe away from scoring even 100 runs in 20 overs quota. Post Zimbabwe innings, Steyn shared that he felt like bowling in Derban! Pace, bounce, seam - everything was there for them. This just pushed Zimababwe one step further towards the plane that headed back to Zimbabwe.
Amla & Levi scored the needed runs to officially win the match. They did not even let one-down batsman to have a look at the crease from batting stand point. As expected, SA thrashed Zimbabwe pretty easily and convincingly.
Finally, the current standing of the member participants in CPFL T20WC12.
Well, PompeBhai maintains his first position. All those who showed some faith in Kallis specifically, climbed up the rank ladder!
We have two matches today: Match #5: Bangladesh v New Zealand - It's a day night match and will start at 1000 GMT. Based on inconsistency in their playing, either of the teams can defeat each other. Match #6: Afghanistan v England - It's a day night match and will start at 1400 GMT. Based on Afghanistan's performance against India, it would be an interesting match.
I have selected du plessis. Finally, he was not included in playing 11 itself
Same here. I was counting on him playing. Still, Kallis and du Villiers helped me out know end - I've climbed from a position of "completely hopeless" to merely "pathetic". If I keep going this way, I could reach the heady heights of "massive loser" by the end of the tournament.
*pre-emptive celebratory nipple tassle jiggle* - Sean Ewington
I am so kicking myself, he was definitely going to be my Capo untill the last minute. It was the fact that Kallis an all-rounder did so well, made me choose an all-rounder this time and now I'm doubly kicking myself.
