An year ago, you would be correct.
Now I doubt it.
While the morale in India is low, England are on a high.
Momentum / morale / confidence does matter a lot in these types of games.
I just want to take you back to a few days ago when South Africa played Australia (at Perth) and were 166/6 or something even worse on the first day. Thanks to a couple of their players, they scrambled to 200 odd. It looked all over for them. They won the test!
You've got to accept how our team sucks. Our bowling is ordinary, our batting's the worst in the world at the moment. There are a few former-greats in our side as extra baggage. And a captain who's struggling with his game, his team, and who's never been that great a thinker as a skipper. This is hardly surprising, these poor performances.
I mentioned pacers started well, although they are quite comfortable now. Anyway they just need a draw and after winning the toss it is already half achieved and the rest easily can be done. What do you say about playing three spinners specially when Jadeja was already there as an option?
certainly they were extremely defensive, although the bowling was not that much threatning.
One aspect could be that they just want to kill the time in the middle. Basically they just need a draw to win the series.
Anyway it is fixed then it is very unfortunate.
