I am amazed by world news print and media to boycott on real situation in kashmir. I am amazed by world news print and media to boycott how article 370 removal will benefit kashmiri people. Are they really dont know kashmiri people are now having equal rights and get all the benefits that an indian gets.
I am amazed that a small time chaiwala is dare to talk about article 370 in front of US citizens and there President. Compare him with Imran khan who dont have any guts to speak about wellfare of people of pakistan and what he is doing for minorities living in pakistan!!

Patil saab, be careful.
You may be named as "intolerant" if you don't fully agree with the misinformed far extreme left ideology, regardless of the rationale behind revoking article 370: CHAIWALA BAD MAN.
Just drink the kool-aid and agree with everything pumped out by NDTV and other fake news outlets like livewire or whatever the f*** it's called, faecesable, clinton news network, huffingpuffing post, etc. Also tell everyone you see about what you read in these outlets. You'll be suddenly popular. Throw around some bits from feminism, gender equality, and gay rights for good measure.
You are instead talking logic, and coming off as a hater.

Forget NDTV. Other world news agencies like washignton post, Nytimes, BBC Al jazeera writing small section on Modi trump meet but larger section dedicated to how Kashmirs treated badly by India!!
Are they not see atrocities within Pakistan on minorities, POK. Pakistan allocated large part of POK to china and no one saying a word about it. WTF?

These are world news agencies?
These are the worst possible news sources one could go to, as you now know. Add in other garbage agencies like guardian, new york times, etc. into the mix as well. They pump out absolute pulp fiction. Vomit-inducing, vile, disgusting lies.
BBC = Biggest bullshitting company. If someone from a tribe in a remote Indian village sacrificed a goat in their temple, BBC will print it as "Savages in India murder animals regularly". But if the ISRO puts a satellite around Mars, it will be on 37th page in 3px font. You cannot take any of these news agencies seriously.

Unfortunately there's none that I could specifically point out to being fully honest. Each side has a bias, but the left extreme media is usually far too up their own arse.

I look at all kinds of news sources, including clinton news network. However, I do not take what they're telling seriously, and I often look to see what some news article is NOT telling. Intellectual dishonesty, selective reporting, that sort of stuff. You'd be hard pressed to see anything good being reported in any of these news agencies you mentioned (especially bullshit british corporation).

Exactly. BBC likes to show, rather highlight only negative things about countries other than Britain. Looks like they train and mentor their journalists to go and find only negative news in their ex-colonies. And then post them in big bold highlighted font.
Maybe BBC has a hidden agenda to bring back all their ex-colonies to the British fold.

Today's announcement and press conference from the Finance minister is total hogwash to improve the falling economy.
The so-called "bold step" is to give tax relief in the name of cutting down the Corporate Tax! Corporates, are they really paying tax?
The question is why "now"? and then what is the use of yearly budget? if they can make amendments in between of Financial Year then such tax relief should be for everyone?
How about the retrospective effects of it and who will bear the burden(Tax Payers/middle class! again!)
It proved to be Garib ki & Suit Boot ki Sarkar only - No country for Tax Payers.

There was a saint in Tamilnad, called Tondar Adi Podi Aalwaar, who has composed several hymns some of which are told daily in some Srivaishnava homes. Not sure whether this has any relation to that.

Just playing the devil's advocate here - I'll provide some opposing views to balance out the discussion.
- The trade war between the US and China has been escalating for a while, and China is not on the winning side. Some tech and manufacturing companies have already started to establish bases outside of China in other South East Asian countries.
- A lot of other companies are seriously contemplating taking this move, among other things, because of state-sanctioned intellectual property theft in China.
- Hong Kong has been boiling for months now, and everyone knows China is behind it, which has been affecting prospects for companies to establish base there (would have been easy otherwise).
- Given our track-record, it's proven that we could protect the intellectual properties of companies.
- Add lesser tax to that, and their profit margins will increase, and at least part of this money will be pumped into our economy. India is now an even more lucrative option given the newfound profitability, and easy access to English-speaking, multi-faceted, local talent at all skill levels.
- Because we don't have state-sanctioned slavery (slave labours) like in China, we will of course not be able to manufacture at dirt-cheap prices like China, but at least the companies know that they could rely on India to protect their assets and develop their business more reliably in the longer run.
- Remember - both sides of the US politics are united on this front to ensure that China will no longer be able to steal intellectual property from American companies. This could therefore only go one way for China, and India could be among the list of countries that benefit from this situation. More jobs and money at the expense of China? Yes, please!

I don't think the law is going to be back-dated. Either that, or you didn't mean to use the word retrospective.

Anyways, I already have thought of the majority of points you've mentioned. However, the 5th point intrigues me a lot because what I know is the "corporate giants" have tons of ways to evade the Tax and lowering down the Tax will inversely benefit them in terms of not Paying whatever they were paying earlier or just pay the small margin of it. Ofc. their profit margin will increase however I highly doubt the increase of Profit margin gonna reach to the targeted area(i.e Indian Economy or Consumer). So at the end of the Financial Year, our government will lose the direct Tax benefit(Which is somewhere around 1.45 Lacs Crore, pardon me if there is a mistake in this figure but that was assumed somewhere around this amount)Rajesh R Subramanian wrote: India is now an even more lucrative option given the newfound profitability That is true only for the new ventures or the foreign investors. Which could have been taken care separately.
I'd have welcome this move if they've provided such benefit to the real taxpayers of the country who do not have any option to evade the tax from the hard-earned money.
The vicious cycle would be, only a particular Class will pay the taxes forever as Corporates/Business has ample opportunity to escape from paying tax or pay the puny amount from the Mammoth profit margins.
The icing on the Cake would be "NPA". There goes the taxpayer's money for the betterment of corporate giants.Rajesh R Subramanian wrote: k the law is going to be back-dated. That's a good point, but is debatable. It could go either ways, but I have a feeling that making our grounds friendlier for existing companies (and new ventures) will ultimately result in more jobs and economic improvement.
Some companies are absolute dogshit with respect to paying taxes, and their mere existence is cast out of tax payer's money. But do note that this does not have anything to do with India. You wouldn't believe these companies do the same everywhere, even in well developed economies. For instance, here's a list of a***hole companies that have paid $0 as tax in a well developed economy like Australia: Top 40 Tax Dodgers - Michael West[^]. In essence, these dodgy companies will find one way or another to cook their books regardless of what they're being taxed.
Gandalf_TheWhite wrote: There goes the taxpayer's money for the betterment of corporate giants.
Tax payers are not going to have to shell anything extra here. It's just that the companies fulfilling the criteria laid out will be paying less tax. Now, this will of course result in less revenue collected, but will also result in the same money being pumped into the economy in one way or another (the company invests into other things, or they use the money to expand their business, or employ more people, etc).

Rajesh R Subramanian wrote: Tax payers are not going to have to shell anything extra here. Sir, the base of the NPAs from Corporate giants are the Loans provided by XYZ bank(s). Whenever banks dish out the money to the Corporate and after a few years corporate goes into debt/loss it's whose money in the bank goes into Void? There is no way to recover the amount, so what the government did, is they helped out those Banks with the highest NPAs. Who filled the void - government, from whose money - ours(TaxPayers).
Corporate after NPA
Banks with Government Help
Us, Tax Payers - Have no clue.
Rajesh R Subramanian wrote: Some companies are absolute dogshit with respect to paying taxes, and their mere existence is cast out of tax payer's money. I'll tell you from my personal experience 2 years before when I furnished my home.
It was a huge trader from whom I purchased the raw material for the furniture, to my amaze he asked me to make Payment towards XYZ spa in the outskirt of the city. When I went for the Payment to the spa, I was more amazed as there was only one person in the entire spa looked like a goon only to collect the cheque/money. He offered me to make payment in cash and in return he will lash out extra discount in 5 digits, tbh, it was too lucrative to refuse.
From that interaction, I understood how much profit/tax that trader saved. Compared to that trader the corporate is a much bigger entity.

Yeah, there's that.
Sorry, I quoted and responded to the wrong sentence. I originally meant that taxing the companies less will not mean taxpayers will somehow pay more tax. These things aren't inter-related.
The money that was going to be collected as tax will now instead be in circulation in one way or another (at least a sizable portion of it, in principle).

I understood what you are trying to explain is the positive side of this step and government is in that direction too, however, the sad thing is we all know that how Tax can be evade/not paid. In this case with a higher profit margin, the rich will be richer.

Yes, but this is regardless of how much tax they pay. Companies like Mitsubishi, Nissan, and Exxonmobil pay $0 as tax in Australia! They use all sorts of dodgy loopholes in the system to do this, but these companies are smaller in number.

Wow, that's interesting. I'd have flat out refused to do any business with some dicey a***hole like that, but I might have caved in if he at least had the courage to ask me directly if I could make a cash payment instead of sending me off to some dingbat in the outskirts of the city. I'd have told him to shove it right up and walked away.

I might have done something similar however I had other things in order queue from the same trader so the delay or no payment wasn't in my favor, it felt really bad to make a payment in cash at mere satisfaction of saving a big amount. I doubt he might have many other secondary businesses to cover up his main business.
