You will need to determine the correct url and type that into a browser address bar - along the lines of
http://putyourcomputernamehere/brandsite/public/default.aspx
You may get away with "localhost" in place of "putyourcomputernamehere", otherwise look in IIS admin to determine the correct name and path

In the IIS, Normally When rightclick on the default.aspx and select "Browser" from the Menu,Browser must be opened with the correct URL.
But in our server, Browser is not openning in the IIS.
Thanks in advance..

hmm..ok.. I se what you mean...
What happens when you try - does your browser open but display the page, or does it not even open at all?
And can you browse to the file ok in your browser, or does that not work either?
You may have better luck asking this question in the Operating System / Sysadmin forum....

I hope this is the right forum...
I'm confused about how you get new headers from a newsserver. I guess when you first suscribe to a group you get what is already on the server by sending a GROUP command to get the the low and high article numbers and send an XOVER command with these two values. But to get new headers later, do you add 1 to that high article number and send the GROUP command again to get the new high article number and then send the XOVER command with these two values? If this is the case, what happens when the high article number is greater than the maximum int value? Does it wrap around from 0, which would make the high article number lower than the low article number?
- thanks

You will need to look into AJAX to achieve this... I am not sure of the wisdom of it though... you cuold end up with a lot of calls to your server....
|
|

AJAX is the most likely candidate, but you can just do a postback whenever the textbox blur event occurs.

Consider this HTML snippet:
<li>
<a id="tab3" href="#">asdf</a>
</li>
Using CSS how can I get to the li of #tab3? In other words the parent of #tab3?

I really have no idear how I get html file when I am
trying to save chart picture on my webpage.
This is the problem look like..
I sent some variables from page "A" to page "B"
those values i need in creating chart process.
It worked fine through showing the chart picture and when
I moved mouse over the picture it shows the diskette icon
to save picture and then I clicked save I got the html file
it was "A" webpage. And sound funny every page that i linked
from page "A" it got the same problem example page "C" it didn't
get any variable from page "A" but it still got the same problem
but again when I try to view only page C by set
[Set As Start Page] property and then clicked run then I tried
to save the picture again it work fine!!!
I don't really understand which part of page "A" that make
every page doesn't work right ????
What's causing the problem?
Oh.. I need to tell you that the first two times it doesn't
cause any problem but other times I will get this problem.
Here is example code the most likely I wrote...
==========================================================================
Graphics g;
Bitmap b = new Bitmap(300, 499);
g = Graphics.FromImage(b);
Response.ContentType = "Image/Gif";
g.Clear(Color.Transparent);
g.FillRectangle(new SolidBrush(Color.Black), 0, 0, 300, 499);
b.Save(Response.OutputStream, ImageFormat.Gif);
b.Dispose();
g.Dispose();

Trouble is by generating the graphic on the fly like this there isn't actually any file for the browser to grab and save - you will need to save the file to the (server's) filesystem first in your graphics routine, and then set an image's src property to point to that... (or rather, an asp:Image ImageUrl=...)

First,Thank you very much for your replied.
Now I have some idea that you might right but I have never done this before.
Please you tell me or suggest how can i learn about this.

Please reply this I am waiting for you,sir.

Well..I mean, instad of
b.Save(Response.OutputStream, ImageFormat.Gif);
have
b.Save(Server.MapPath("fred.gif", System.Drawing.Imaging.ImageFormat.Gif);
Then you can set the ImageUrl property of an asp:Image control to the same file:
asp:Image ImageUrl="fred.gif"

I have a form defined as follows:
<form id="formManualAdd"
action="thispage.asp?myAction=addPerson"
method="post"
onsubmit="return ValidateData(this);">
<table>
<tr>
<td>Last name:</td> <td><input type="text" id="lastName" size="25" value="" /></td>
</tr>
<tr>
<td>First name:</td><td><input type="text" id="firstName" size="25" value="" /></td>
</tr>
<tr>
<td>SSN:</td><td><input type="text" id="SSN" size="20" value="" /></td>
</tr>
<tr>
<td colspan="2" align="center"><button name="submit" type="submit" value="submit">Submit</button></td>
</tr>
</table>
</form>
I have the following VBScript:
Dim myAction: myAction = request.QueryString("myAction")
if (myAction = "addPerson") then
' the following code is hit
Dim in_sLastName: in_sLastName = request.Form("lastName")
Dim in_sFirstName: in_sFirstName = request.Form("firstName")
Dim in_sSSN: in_sSSN = request.Form("SSN")
end if
When I click the button, it goes through the code in the "if" block, but the retrieved values ("request.Form(blah blah)") are null. Why?

You need to set the name property of your html controls as well as, or instead of, the id - eg
<input type="text" id="lastName" name="lastName" size="25" value="" />
Classic asp won't recognise the ID....

Hmmmm, I had tried that on two of the controls (and it didn't work) before posting my question. This m orning, I added the "name" element to ALL of the controls on the form - including the submit button - and it worked. Many thanks.

I am coding a Rich Text Editor that has the capability for keywords in unique colors, much like a MS IDE...
In javascript is it possible to directly the exchange a TEXTAREA (or similar) element with a DIV element? My dilemna is that it would need to be an exact swap where the ID of the orignal TEXTAREA element is retained for the newly created DIV. Also, the TEXTAREA would have no parent elements other than BODY and it must stay in the same position (with no CSS changes). Any ideas?

If a client is accessing my website via https, is it possible for the ip address of the client to change during the same session?
What I meant is, my web application can see and record the ip address of the client and use it to help manage the session. Is it possible to see two different ip addresses from the same client, assuming the client does not restart his/her browser or reconnect to the network?
The client may have to go through firewalls and proxy servers to reach my website.
Thanks.
|
|

Yes, that's possible.
When an IP adress is assigned from a DHCP server, there is a time limit. When the IP adress expires, a new one has to be requested. Almost every time the DHCP server will assign the same IP adress again, because that's the most convenient, but there is no guarantee.
From my experience about half of the internet users have IP addresses that changes at least a few times a month.

In my situation, this client's ip address changes everytime she uses our website. I wonder what could be the cause of that?

ASP is a new code for me. Now i want to create 1 website for all user upload and download they all document files. But i dunno how to write out the code....pls help..

Best Suggestion is Better buy a book and start reading all the concepts of the ASP and then practice the codes.
If we say you could not able to understand what is what.
SO buy a book and keep on learning and practice the code.

Satips.
