Hey! Some friends and I want to develop a web application and make it accessible to later costumers via cloud. We are a young start-up and are evaluating different cloud provider right now. In the beginning we want to use PaaS, because of the lower administration and faster time-to-market potential. The cloud provider should offer a good solution for developing multi tenant application in respect to multi instances of the application (accesible to own costumer urls e.g costumer1.myapplication.com) and eventually own databases with the same schema for each costumer. Does someone has experience with cloud providers, of course under consideration of the cost aspects ;)
Best regards Peter

Did you notice that those links point to your local system?

Look at your rule: ^member/([a-zA-Z0-9_-]+)/([0-9]+)/?$
How could member/abc123 match?
member/abc123/1/ would match.
By the way, if that's a private page (not for viewing by everyone), I'd suggest a POST instead of a GET.

Sometimes out of a strict deadline or laziness, I'll do something dumb/bad because it can be faster.
Simple Example (repeat offender):
I catch myself doing things like in a form to nudge that word over and be done with it.
Oh gawd what am I doing?
How often does this happen to everyone else? Please provide examples and maybe a good way to avoid this bad habit.

What forum besides Web Development should this be in, since I'm not asking about any particular language, medium, or category?
|
|

Your question has nothing to do with Web Development; in fact I have no idea what it does refer to.
Veni, vidi, abiit domum

the & nbsp; was read as a literal space, I noticed. That would have helped, but yes and I am referring to web development (developing forms). If you don't know what it refers to, how can you say that it's in the wrong forum?

I used this example.
Code:
<title>Test
$(document).ready(function() {
$('.hidable').hide();
$('.link').each(function(){
$(this).toggleClass("active").next();
$(this).click(function(){
var show=$(this).attr('rel');
$('.hidable').slideUp('slow');
$(show).slideDown('fast');
});
});
});
</script>
</head>
<body>
<ul>
<li class='link' rel='#div1'><a href="#">1</a></li>
<li class='link' rel='#div2'><a href="#">2</a></li>
<li class='link' rel='#div3'><a href="#">3</a></li>
<li class='link' rel='#div4'><a href="#">4</a></li>
<li class='link' rel='#div5'><a href="#">5</a></li>
</ul>
<div id="boxes">
<div class='hidable' id='div1'><table><tr><td><img src="button.jpg"></td></tr></table></div>
<div class='hidable' id='div2'>div 2</div>
<div class='hidable' id='div3'>div 3</div>
<div class='hidable' id='div4'>div 4</div>
<div class='hidable' id='div5'>div 5</div>
</div>
</body>
</html>
and I added button in div1 content. My problem is to link that button to another div in this html file. For example, when I click the button, it will open the div2 content. I've tried using <a href="#div2"><img src="button.jpg></a> but not working. How should I do this?

Can we create table in database using our application dynamically where user specified tables fields.

I haven't tried it as of yet but you would be looking to use Entity Framework code first
Code First with Entity Framework 5 using MVC4 and MVC Scaffold[^]
writing the classes on the fly (or dynamically) I would say that you need to readup on the CodeDom classes. this google search might be a good place to start
google: C# codedom[^]

But i think it's not a solution for my question because i already use EF code first using mvc4.

Hi,
I have the main web site, which runs fine with no issues.
I set up another web site on port 8082. When I try to browse this web site,I get the above error. I tried enabling the Directory browsing for this web site. Then when I tried to browse, all the pages were listed, one after another.
Is there anything I could be missing?
Thanks!!

If you don't want to see the list of files in the site, turn directory browsing off and set up a default page.

Hello could anybody Help me about passing the value of a textbox from form using Ajax Actionlink. It's been whole day figuring out still I'm getting value of null.
Im using pure Ajax Action link with out Any button.
here is the sample of delete ajax action link works perfect!
http:
But using it in form collection the value always null. Any help Appreciated Thanks!
here is my code:
CustomerVIEW
<% using (Html.BeginForm())
{ %>
<%= Html.TextBoxFor(model => model.Fname, new { id = "Fname" })%>
<%= Html.TextBoxFor(model => model.Lname, new { id = "Lname"})%>
<%= Ajax.ActionLink("Create", "Create",
new { id = 1},
new AjaxOptions {
HttpMethod="POST",
OnFailure = "function() { alert('fail'); }",
OnSuccess = "function() { alert('success'); }"
})%>
}
------------------------------------------------------------------------
CustomerController
[AcceptVerbs(HttpVerbs.Post)]
public ActionResult Create(FormCollection formCollection)
{
clsCustomer objcustomer = new clsCustomer();
clsSession objSession = new clsSession();
objcustomer.Fname = formCollection["Fname"]; --> NULL
objcustomer.Lname = formCollection["Lname"]; --> NULL
}

I don't use Ajax action links, but rather HTML action links so I might be off base here, but why do you need the second parameter in your textbox? If you are using a TextboxFor for then the model associated with your form should post back in whatever it's model form was.
I have been working with MVC a lot lately and have found that Firebug for Firefox is invaluable for this kind of thing. When you run it, you can see what your post values are.

I am trying to set up a self signed SSL certificate on development machine.
To create the certificate, I log onto IIS 7->server configurations->select the create self-signed certificate.
I create a certificate with a friendly name, like *.domainstesting.com, so I can use this same certificate for multiple domains.
I set up both the web sites to use this SSL certificate.
When ever I try to browse the web site which has https associated with it, there is an error stating the
"There is a problem with this website's security certificate. The security certificate presented by this website was not issued by a trusted certificate authority."
Am I missing any step?
Thanks so much for your help!
