i want to build a structure for this case:
autocompelte case:
i have 500,000 word and phrase, what is the proper data-strcture can i use on the server side while comparing each character inserted to the textbox by the user.... (Tree structure, hash map, has table, ...etc).. of course taking consideration to the time cost.

Is the server going to be used for this "autocompelte" only? Otherwise you shouldn't even consider hogging 10+ MB of memory for this single task. Use a database.

well i'm using cluster.. and each 1MB has a consideration.
plus...delaying 10ms can affect on the total performance.
some said to use hashmap inside hashmap, some said to use a tree...

Each megabyte of what? Memory? Network traffic?

The total performance of what? Web pages and database queries are executed in parallell, so they don't wait for each other.

who can answer this question:
creat a list that resembles a folder navigation tree. use two images: an image representing a closed folder and an image representing an open folder. place at least five items in folder tree. make the last list item positioned on the inside of the list and display an open folder for the list item maker. you may use only one list and only two rules; and cannot use any class or id names.
*the images can be different.
*it should be write by css or html.

You should be able to answer that question.
When you post your school assignments here, assume that your teacher also has internet access...
You are not even the first one to post this exact assignment here. Well, at least you didn't post it as a C# programming question...

HI,
I am facing the following issue,
I couldn't debug my project and getting access denied error.
When I was a memeber in Admin group I could debug. But when it is removed from admin and added to the following groups it is not working.
1)VS Developer
2)debugger User
3)IIS_WPG
But when we add a new user in the above groups and don't have admin rights, still he can work.
I found situation only when once the member has admin rights and later if it is remover the debugger stops debugging..
How to solve this issue without having the admin rights..
Any idea is much appreciated.
Thanks,
RPM.

The 1990's called, they want their question back
Seriously, why would you learn PHP now ? ASP.NET is free, and it is a far richer environment to be writing web apps in.

PHP did not exist in 1990.
And don't even try to start a flame war here, as a MVP you should know better.

That's why I said 'the 90s' and not '1990'

What on earth makes you think I'm doing that ? I think PHP is a bad idea in the year 2006, and I would hope that if the OP is making that decision for the wrong reasons, I can highlight the reasons to use something that's a little more modern, easy to use and so on.

My bad about the 90's
Well you made a statment that is formed based on your personal expiriences. I assume you don't know PHP all that well. Well I do, and as someone that also know ASP.NET I can tell you that there is no right&wrong anwser here. There are projects that are bettr done with PHP and there are the ones thata are better with ASP.NET.
But I think you arleady know that the choice of a development platform is based on far more things, like what does the developer knows best and so on and on ...

And now i see Microsoft employs people on their likliness to their products. F***ing stupid and annoying.
How full of sh** do u want to be??
PHP is incredibly powerful for certain projects.
Sorry to Go off like that, It's 1am and SQL Server just packed up. Guess it needs sleep as badly as i do.

how to -Develop a webpart which will display all the sites and sub sites.
For each site, it should display the name of all the web parts contained in that site.
This webpart when placed in any site should behave the same.
If any webpart in the site is hidden, specify accordingly.

in the HTTP request-line GET/SIPcfg/HTTP1.1 i want to know what is SIPcfg and from where it came
raghu

That doesn't really look like a request-line. Perhaps you mean:
GET /SIPcfg/ HTTP1.1
In this request-line, the /SIPcfg/ part is the URI that is requested.

It doesn't mean anything. It's a name of a folder.

Hi,
Can anyone help me.. how can i copy one text file from server to a local machine using javascript.
Thanks
Sushant Duggal.
|
|
|
|
|
You can't.
If the server is a web server, and the file is exposed to the web, you can use the XMLHTTP component to request the file from the server.
