hi,
you can format date with DateTime.ToString(string)[^] method.

you have to use format function or formatting with ToString function
i.e
Response.write DateAdd("h",23,dtNow).toString("MM-dd-yyyy")
you can use whatever you want inside the toString to format your date, the toString function interpret the format like this:
MM: shows the month in numbers
MMM: shows the month name
dd: show the day , two numbers
yyyy: show the year of four digit
there are other ways of formatting, see Microsoft documentation for Date.toString function

I am trying to get all http requests to IIS 6 automatically redirected to https. I have the following code in the error 403.4 htm file.
self.location = "https://aa.autoweb.net "
One issue I am having is that I receive the login page when I http, then I redirect to the same page thru https and am required to login again.
I would also like to use server variables so a request to a sub-site wouls not redirect to the root.
Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Hi, MSIE does not support server-push (e.g. a HTML page that will be completlty updated with new content, using MIME multipart/mixed).
I wonder what alternatives there are... when you want to trigger a refresh at a specific time and not in regular intervalls. Regular refresh via a META refresh is not an alternative as it for example uses too much traffic -or- can come unwanted in the middle of something. Right now I am using JavaScript to tell Microsoft's MSIE to fetch the page again, unfortunately this needs JavaScript enabled.
Other browsers (read: Firefox/Mozilla) supports true server push, where the web server can decide when it's time to refresh the content on the web browser.
Thanks, Moak

Can any one help me with the AnswerWorks process. I want to know how exactly does the AnswerWorks process works!
I do know that on decompiling a CHM we get a few answerworks related *.js files but i do not know how these compile to build an AnswerWorks Archive for natural language search.
Any info on this will be appreciated gladly.

I don't claim to be the worlds leading web developer but recently landed a contract to develop a web based
solution requiring me to access a twain source from the client side, capture the image and upload it togeteher with some demographic data. I am a visual c++ developer and thought of developing an activeX control that will do this for me. Sure the security settings on the client side must be set to accomodate for this but in this specific situation, a well controlled intranet situation is applicable. So in short,
my question realy is,
1. Is this the best solution ?
2. What alternatives is there.
3. Can I address hardware via the client side in the way I want to do it ?
Consider the following, I am forced to use PHP scripts but free to do whatever required on the client side.

I have an introduction page, when i click on Start Test, it will bring me to another page that contains 3 frameset (header, tracker, and question content). There are a total of 10 questions and at the final question, there is a END TEST button. When I click on the END TEST button, i will be redirected to the introduction page again. However, the introduction page is displayed IN the frameset which I don't want it to be. It should be a new page by itself. What is the problem and how should I fixed it?
I suspect it is because of the target="_self" setting in the left1 frame. How can I bypass that?

I am doing a project which need to implement a php code function that can send a sms to my cellphone by using an infrared that is attached to my pc.
can anyone teach me how to do it ? i will really appreciate if you can teach me.
|
|
|
|
|
go to php.net and see if it says anything there about infrared. if not (as i suspect) then you probably can't do it.
maybe someone on a suitable php forum will have a bright idea for you.

How can I set a row to disappear? Presently I have:
function treeHide(hide, rowId)
{
someRow = document.getElementById(rowId);
someRow.visible = false;
}
and even this fails:
function treeHide(hide, rowId)
{
someRow = document.getElementById(rowId);
someRow.visible = false;
}
with the error that an 'object is required'.
What am I doing wrong?
Thanks a lot,
Jim

Hello,
I'm attempting to set the size of a browser window to exactly fit the content without activating a horizontal scroll bar. basically, if i have a webpage like yahoo, i want the browser window resized to the minimum width needed to display the full width of the page content and without having a horizontal scroll bar.
how can i determine this number? i tried scrollWidth on the doc element but kept coming back with the full width of the browser window rather than the minimum width the content needs to be displayed without scroll bars.
thanks for any help

Our application hosts the web browser control to display a web page installed locally on users' machines. During runtime, we use the IHTMLElementCollection::item() to access elements based on their IDs and index to change the innerText of the elements. All was working fine except XP SP2. The function always returns a NULL IDispatch.
Is this new/broken and how can I get around this problem?
Thanks a lot.

Sorry, these are real newb questions but I am having a lot of trouble!
First, is there a function that 'splits' a string based on some chaaracter?
Second, how can I convert a string to an integer?
Thanks a bunch for your time!
Jim
|
|
|
|
|
to split
myString = "A,B,C,D"
splitString = myString.split(",")
as for converting, string to integer, why do you wnat to do that? I believe Javascript will do the job for you, you don't need to add any special processing

What I am going to do is store two integers in a row id using Javascript. They will be delimiited by a semi colon. One will be a string and the other is an integer. The reason I would need to convert is because it would be stored as a string, no?
Thanks a LOT,
Jim

use this code on the main page

Response.Expires = 0
Response.CacheControl = "no-cache"
If Len(Session("FirstTimeToPage")) > 0 then
'The user has come back to this page after having visited
'it... wipe out the session variable and redirect them back
'to the login page
Session("FirstTimeToPage") = ""
Response.Redirect "page2.asp"
Response.End
End If
'If we reach here, the user can view the page, create the form
%>
after that on the page2.asp use the following code
Session("FirstTimeToPage") = "NO"
