Hello
Yes I did read the whole tutorial but the line that had a problem was this
certGen.setSerialNumber(new DERInteger(BigInteger.valueOf(System.currentTimeMillis())));
I only asked for a push not for a complete code.
That's simply it.

on what criteria we will decide whether to use map or list?
It depends what you want to do with the information you are processing. The List [^] is just a simple list of values, whereas a Map [^] has keys to values for fast access.
i have one confusion that when we declare a list as below
List lt = new Arraylist();
Then in that case what value it can store i.e same type of value or it is capable of storing any type of variables or objects.

The List can store any type of object, but it does not make sense to store different types in the same list.

Many things you need to know,
1) IF you store just one object, use List, if you have two object key and value use Map.
2) List is ordered, your objects will be stored in the order on which they are inserted, Map is not ordered, unless you use sorted ones.

Why are you telling me this?

Dear All,
Kindly be informed that I am facing an issue where every time i connect to a secured HTTPS server I get the following error "Quote: Exception in thread "main" javax.net.ssl.SSLHandshakeException: java.security.cert.CertificateException: No subject alternative names present "
I don't know how to solve this issue and I googled it and no luck. Also please be noted that I am a beginner in Java.
Thanks in advance

But when I tried it in my application I got the error that Webpage not available. But the jsp application is running and i'm getting the page, but through android, it's error.

Well you need to investigate why your program cannot get that page.

Full stop.
Ok, I'll just toddle back over to the C# forum. :diminishing tuneless whistle:

Dear sir , could you be more specific about what you are trying to convey , I didnt understand , actually i wanted help on the easiest yet secure language to program LAN

There is no way for a general language to be secure.
That is because how applications are implemented as well as the business domain and even where they run impact their security.

Tell your friend he is wrong. The last project I worked on used Java to communicate between clients (Windows, Linux, UNIX) and server, transferring messages, objects etc. It worked fine.

Which often means that the assertion is nonsense, regardless of what the assertion is.
At best, what someone might have originally told him was that Java doesn't have access to raw sockets. Which means, for example, that you can't write a tool like wireshark in Java (java only excluding JNI.)
Now at worst it might have been a convoluted way of saying that you can't use Java to write an IP stack. But then you can't use Java for many driver tasks and you wouldn't want to anyways. And there are other odd ways of expressing that as well such as suggesting that you wouldn't use Java to create a high speed router.
However if you want to use it to create something much more normal like a web server then there is no problem.

When i discussed this with my friends one of them told me about that ""DISADVANTAGE"" of JAVA , you seem to have experience in it , could you please help with your advice regarding the time it might require us to complete the chat messenger . we are 2 in number and we have learnt and started JAVA implementation just a month ago Sorry, but I can help with specific questions but I cannot provide training and/or consultancy services. You should get familiar with the Java Tutorials[^] which contain some excellent training materials. Also try some Google research and you will find lots of useful information.

thanks a lot , i got some good examples for socket programming working on them now
I did some network programming (socket stuff) in many languages including java (also in C/C++, pascal, python). I think networking in java is quite OK. Since it has a crossplatform api you have access to limited functionality of the native socket api of your host platform but that isn't a problem in most of the cases especially if you are developing simple UDP/TCP applications. Whether to use java or not: it depends on your goals.

the error message is as follows:
Failed to load the application on to the emulator device.

Wait for the emulator to setup completely and then test your app. Also, I would leave your AVD open so you don't have to wait so long every time you run your application.
When it shows the red writing, don't close anything - leave it there and then press the run button again.

Please check if your app has any errors.I had encountered this error a lot when i started App development there might be some error in your layout file or string file or sometimes you might have given same IDs to different components and if all this doesnt work check yuor android manifest file. If all these doesnt help you in error removal then create a new project try copying the code part by part . This surely will help you
