Please don't repost, it's just annoying. Edit your old post if you want to add something, as it seems you did.

ListView's only select entire rows, not cells. Use a FlexGrid instead if you want the ability to select any row or cell in a row.

Authenticating what ? I assume input ? In which case, you have things like masked text controls, you have validators, and you can write your own code to validate input any way you like.

There's nothing built in, no. You'd have to build your own permissions system, and it's not as secure as a web app, because anyone who has your exe can decompile it and remove the permissions checks. They are also more likely to have access to the database that tracks who has permissions to what.

I'm working on a vb6 project with Crystal Report 8.5 . I want to call a stored procedure from my app. After getting the result from my database, how to print it out directly without showing in the Crystal Report fist.

you can go with, Using Server-Side ReportDocument.PrintToPrinter Method or by Client Side JavaScript: window.Print.
Using Server-Side ReportDocument.PrintToPrinter Method:
The Syntax is :
Report.PrintToPrinter(<copies as="" int="">, <collated as="" true="" false="">, <startpage as="" int="">, <endpage as="" int="">)
Client Side JavaScript: window.Print:
The Syntax is :
function PrintWindow(){
if (navigator.appName == "Microsoft Internet Explorer") {
var PrintCommand = '< O B J E C T ID="PrintCommandObject" WIDTH=0 HEIGHT=0 ';
PrintCommand += 'CLASSID="CLSID:8856F961-340A-11D0-A96B-00C04FD705A2">';
document.body.insertAdjacentHTML('beforeEnd', PrintCommand);
PrintCommandObject.ExecWB(6, -1); PrintCommandObject.outerHTML = ""; }
else { window.print();} }
Hope this will Help you.

Satips.

Yes, it sounds like you shouldn't be attempting this task at this stage, you should learn some core stuff first.
You create a combo box, and each item has a value property, set that to the Id of the department whose name it shows. Catch the selected index changed event. Grab that Id, stuff it into a proc that returns the data for that department and databind the returned table to your grid.

Well, for starters, don't use the nasty VB shortcuts, use the proper .NET methods which also work in C#. Otherwise, you're making it impossible to ever use C#, for no good reason.
FileOpen = BAD
File.Open = GOOD
bapu2889 wrote: Dim LN, LineNo As Integer
For LN = 1 To LineNo
LineNo does not have a value, and therefore defaults to 0. Counting from 1 to 0, involves no iterations of the loop.
bapu2889 wrote: but it's not doing any thing
That's not really true, I'd expect this code to create an empty file. You should set breakpoints in your code and step through to see why things don't work, and you should give more detailed explanations of issues when you post questions, it helps people to help you.
