Yeah, you need to assign something to it, otherwise it will be null. Maybe you missed a line of code that assigned something to it?

Hi,
Not sure where to post this so i'm posting it here and in the C# forum...
I'm busy converting an old VB 6 app to .NET and I'm having a little issue with crystal. In the VB 6 code, when you export a report to disk, it used to pop up a dialog box that showed you how far, percentage wise, it was in the export. I've converted this to .NET and it exports perfectly BUT it doesn't pop up that little crystal dialog box to show how far the export is...
Anyone have any ideas on this? I've looked for methods and properties in the ReportDocument and ExportOptions classes but couldn't see anything.
Thanks!
Nick

I want to add some program in between some other program

You can't get Acdsee to call your code without some pretty serious hacking. There are articles on CP about hacking Minesweeper to add menu items, but getting something to happen as part of a process is a lot more involved. Certainly, I doubt VB is even up to the task, it sounds like a C++ job to me.
Why don't you just write your own slideshow, that would be easier I reckon.

You're using VB6 ? Sorry, I don't use VB at all, and I answer vb.net questions because they use the .net framework, which I do use.

I have written a small app in vb.net (Using VS2005 Beta) that performs some screen scrape operations. The website that I am scraping has a structure like website.com/Page.asp?id=xxxxx
The id's are numeric and so my app loops thru one at a time incrementing the ids.
My internet setup is Cable modem with a Netgear router. About every 20 minutes while this app is running, my router loses connection with the modem causing me to have to unplug and replug in the router. A few seconds later everything resumes normally. I have never experienced this problem with my router and only behaves like this when this app is running. Have you ever seen something like this? Any ideas on the cause?

Lol, perhaps. Well, in my defense, Im only scraping for personal consumption.

Makes no difference to the effect you have on the bandwidth of the sites you scrape.

I have a small program to send emails thru visualbasic 6.0. I am using vbSendMail component. When i tested my program in the localnetwork its working fine. But when i run the same exe in Internet there was no error, but the mail was not sent. I think it the problem with the SMTP server. I have downloaded QK SMTP Server and installed in my system. Now when i run my program in the internet its working ( i have give the SMTP server name as 127.0.0.1). Now i want to run my program in the internet without using any other SMTP Server. How could i do this.. I am always connected to internet and i have my own webspace. How could i use my webservers SMTP address/ip and run my program.
Thanks in advance,

In your code you could try putting in a reference to your local SMTP Server such as:
SmtpMail.SmtpServer="localhost"
I have similar where my code is in a submit button and fields in a form are filed and sent and when I click button this code is called:
Mailmessage mail = new MailMessage()
mail.To="e_screwz@company.com"
mail.From="user@usercompany.com"
mail.Subject=""
mail.Body=""
SmtpMailServer="localhost"
SmtpMail.Send(mail)

I have a dropdown list and when I select something on it I want another dropdown to be populated with values.
The dropdown is like this: Book
Title
If you select Title I want it to populate another dropdown which would contain a list of titles.
These values are all contained in tables.
Has anyone any code that might be of use in this.
Thanks,
macca

I dunno in which platform you are working either vb/.net! write your code in the click event of the combo box. and populate the records into another combo box.

Return s
End Function
I am trying to convert html in to string from a stream. Everything works fine but GetHGlobalFromStream(strm, iptr)

I have imported OleLib.tlb also in the project. But i can not run the code.
If someone has ever programmed to get convert html of a page from a stream please answer my question. Its very urgent.

Dear All,
How can we restict the TextBox to enter only specified language(other than english like arabic or etc..)in vb.net,means that can be access only arabic charecters
Ishak

|
|

You can't. The character set used depends on the Input Local specified in the Regional Settings control panel. The language itself can't be restricted.

Why are you asking questions about and posting C# code in the VB.NET Forum?
I can tell you you're calling this function the hard way.
