I need to handle mouse move when is out of child window too...
I handling mouse move in Child window but when I am with mouse out of child window, do not go me message... Do you know how do it?

Why this is required, can you explain ?
You can trck when mouse leave message, but not sure about other.

you need to use TrackMouseEvent

What do you mean by this you needed co-ordinates ?

If its an activX,It must have some interfaces to communicate with you can use its interfaces to send required info.

Try SetCapture and ReleaseCapture methods. That helps to cature mouse events outside ur window. Smile | :)

Hi,

I want to limit the available BaudRates in the CommConfigDialog dialog.

Reason: The devices I will communicate with only accepts some different BaudRates. (i.e. 9600,38400)

Question: Is there some way to configure this CommConfigDialog dialog so that it doesn't show all possible BaudRates?

Pseudo code:
COMMCONFIG cfg = { sizeof( COMMCONFIG ), 0 };
cfg.dcb.BaudRate = nValue; //Current value
cfg.SetAvailabelBaudRates = CBR_9600 | CBR_38400; //<---Something like this
CommConfigDialog("COM1",this->GetSafeHwnd(), &cfg ) ){

Hi all,

I'm trying to create a mailslot, that a remote computer can write to ... but the thing is I've tried the following:

LPTSTR Slot = TEXT("\\computername\\mailslot\\name");<br />
LPTSTR Slot = TEXT("\\domainname\\mailslot\\name");<br />
LPTSTR Slot = TEXT("\\\\.\\*\\mailslot\\name");<br />

Where the computername was the name of the remote computer,
And the domainname the name of the domain, but I keep getting a error code 123 or 3.

Confused | :confused:

Can anyone help?? Confused | :confused:

But the thing is I don't think that statement will work over a network from server to client?

According to MSDN:

Error 123 is ERROR_INVALID_NAME. Error 3 is ERROR_PATH_NOT_FOUND.

I have an application whose shortcut is placed on the desktop. Now whenever i double-click that icon, I want to get the information for that icon like Icon name, Icon target path, Icon working directory. The reason behind this is from one of the functionality the working directory changes for the application. So through Windows API or in C#/C++ I want to change the working directory for the icon which is double-clicked.

Plz guide me soon and at the earliest, if possible.

But I hav already used IShellLink Interface. My problem is I am clicking an icon on the desktop and I want to know the name of icon using which I can check its existence and if found then change its 'Working Directory'.

1. Also if you can let me know how to get the path of the icon??
2. How to initialize IShellLink object with an existing desktop icon??

Hi,
Can anybody help me to get Icon details like its name, target path, working directory whenever it is double-clicked to run the application. This is be using Windows API or in C#.
I have already used IShellLink Interface but its been hard-coded for icon name. Suppose the user changes desktop icon name then also coding should be able to change its working directory. This can be done if I can check the existence of the icon.

I use kbhit for suspending program execution but it consumes processor cycles

while(!kbhit()){;}

how to do it without consuming cycles

Use Ctrl+Left/Right to switch messages, Ctrl+Up/Down to switch threads, Ctrl+Shift+Left/Right to switch pages.
