Hi,
In my application I get the recent opened file from m_pRecentFileList variable. Here is the code
CString the_File=(*m_pRecentFileList)[0];
OpenDocument(the_File);
In OpenDocument I have
pDoc->Load(CComVariant(lpszPathName));
Here it always fails.
But If I give the path directly,
ie CString the_File="c:\\text.abc"
It works fine.

pDoc is an XMLDocument object:
Here is the source:
IXMLDOMDocument *pDoc;
CoCreateInstance(CLSID_DOMDocument, NULL, CLSCTX_INPROC_SERVER,
IID_IXMLDOMDocument, (void**)&pDoc)

Have you put a breakpoint on this statement to see the value of the_File ?

This is a new configurable setting of windows XP. You have to change the OS options under your display settings.

It's also present in Windows 2000.

Is it possible to use C# controls in a MFC Dialog based application. I have a C# control of a fancy button, and want to add this button on the MFC Dialog. Any help in this context will be much appreciated.

Hi everybody, please tell me how to check a folder existed or not.
Ex:
BOOL CheckExistedFolder(CString strFolderName);
It returns
TRUE : Existed

Thank a lot !

Here you go.
bool dirExists
(CString strDirectory)
{
TCHAR* fullPath = _tfullpath (NULL, strDirectory, 0);
if (fullPath == NULL)
return (false);
TCHAR szCurrDir [_MAX_PATH];
_tgetcwd (szCurrDir, _MAX_PATH - 1);
long nStatus = _tchdir (fullPath);
_tchdir (szCurrDir);
free (fullPath);
if (nStatus == 0)
return (true);
return (false);
} /ravi

You can do a simple check like this
use
GetFileAttributes(..) to get the attributes of the folder, if you receive valid values that means that directory exits, elese its not there.
BOOL CheckExistedFolder(CString strFolderName)
{
if(GetFileAttributes(strFolderName) == INVALID_FILE_ATTRIBUTES)
{
return false;
}
else
{
return true;
}
}

You also might want to check the attributes for FILE_ATTRIBUTE_DIRECTORY to make sure it is not a file.

_access() , GetFileAttributes() , and CFile::GetStatus() are my favorites.

Hi guys,
I need your help to create a transparent checkbox on a image-background-dialog using inherited-CButton-class . I have created a transparent one, but at the first time the dialog show, the checkbox displayed only text part, and the rectangle-box was invisible. After clicking on it, the checkbox part then displayed.(Windows 2k Pro., VC6++)
How 2 solve this problem.
Thanks in advance.

Hello.
I am designing an application that requires the support of SSL/TLS layer socket transfer. I would like to know what is the most extensible solution.
- OpenSSL
- Win32 SSL API
The Win32 SSL API is quicker in terms of implementation. OpenSSL requires the use and in-depth knowledge of how the library handles I/O.
My primary concern is with non-blocking I/O model. Part of the design includes an OVERLAPPED I/O model via winsock. I have no problem blending Win32 SSL API with the current OVERLAPPED I/O. However, OpenSSL is somewhat different. Here is what OpenSSL design could end up.
- Winsock connect
- Associate socket to OpenSSL layer (global context)
- OpenSSL connect
- sent/recv via OpenSSL API
OpenSSL does support an event callback interface. However, is its send and receive API blocking or non-blocking? How will it affect the winsock OVERLAPPED layer? In other words, if there is incoming data, will OpenSSL handles the callback or will winsock handle the callback?
Thanks,
Kuphryn

Hello,
Sorry to bother you all but i am experiencing a little nasty problem and since i am quite a newbie to MFC programming, i really don't know where to go to find a solution by myself.
I have a project of mine, developed under windows xp pro / visual c++ .net 2003. When i compile the program and make a setup for it, everything works fine as long as my application runs under windows xp / windows 2000 / windows NT. If the application is installed under windows ME / 98, the visual c++ runtime complains reporting an enigmatic error:
Runtime Error!
Program C:\......
This application has requested the Runtime to terminate it in an unusual way. Please contact the application's support team for more information.
For me that means that the runtime provided with visual c++ 2003 is not compatible with the latter systems. Unfortunately this program has to run on both platforms.
Is there a way to instruct visual studio to create an executable in a sort of "compatibility mode" or "retro mode", which will produce an executable that can be run under windows 98? It is even ok to have two separate installers (one for 2000/xp and one for 98/me) as long as the installed program will run.
If there is no way to do that how could i solve the problem?

sorry conticello, but i can't see other way to do that but to compile your project under each plateform you want it to run on...
so, you must compile it under WinME and Win98...

It looks quite strange to me the fact that visual c++ doesn't have a way to instruct its compiler to produce code backward compatible with windows 98 but, assumed that, another problem arises...
Which compiler to use to compile the source code under windows 98/me ???
Of course not visual studio .net 2003 because it can't be installed on platforms older than windows 2000.
The easiest answer should be to use visual studio 6.0 but i don't own it and even if i can get a copy around i don't feel i can buy it just to compile a single program once.
Does someone have an idea?

How is asking a question on a public forum considered bothersome? It's not like you forced yourself upon anyone.

Hi,
I would like to be able to drag thumbnails from one list control and then have them appear in a pre defined arrangment in another list control (e.g.). What is the standard way of doing this? Is there a specialised control for this. I just want to be able to drag the thumbnails to another user defined grid . Say 1:1 layout or 4x4 (16) thumbnails.
