Wow you seem to've summoned a univotor.

I didn't vote down your post. I'm still reading through the article. Why would I vote somebody down who wants to help me?

Well, at first someone voted 5 to all the replies and then changed to 1.

Well, that wasn't me. I don't need to lie here. If I would have voted it down I would say so.

Hi everyone!
I had a little argument with a colleague about namespaces. He is affirming, that one should use namespaces as less as possible.
In my opinion, namespaces not only exist for controlling "the scope of class and method names in larger programming projects" (MSDN quote), but also for somehow organizing my classes in order to have some functional grouping.
Now my question is: How do you use namespaces personally? Only one or two per project, or one for each little functional group? Is there any "best practice" you follow?
Thank you,
Phil

Typically I create a namespace for each group of classes that are related in functionality (for example for entities or UI etc..) so yes, I do use quite a lot namespaces.
Philip F. wrote: one for each little functional group
This depends on the definition of little, but I wouldn't use namespace for a very small set of classes (like two or three) unless there's a very good reason. Typically in my projects we have 10-100 classes per namespace.

That's not true. Namespaces helps to organize the code. It is very useful in practice. If there was no namespace concept, programmers will run out of names for the methods and variables.

I use namespaces extensively. Here[^] is a discussion of namespaces and folder structure which you may be interested.

Tooltip control is the easy way. It is kind of drag and drop.

If you don't ask questions the answers won't stand in your way.

Each control should have a mousehover[^] event to which you can draw your own control to popup, or you can simply use tooltip[^] generic control to appear when a mouse hovers over a control.
Hope this helps.

You can use parametrized constructor for SuperMartDB class which accepts a connection string
Or you can create a property called ConnectionString in SuperMartDB class then set its value from FrmMain.
I would prefer you to use the parametrized constructor approach.
Be careful, there is no Undo Button(Ctrl+Z) in life.

Add the form's namespace to the top of the class file.
using NamespaceOfForm;
That should do the trick.
You could also do this to access the variable (but use the above method if you need it more than once):
NamespaceOfForm.connStr

Hello everyone,
I'm trying to do the following through C#:
1) Change my display device. For example, from my monitor (connected via DVI cable) to my tv (connected via DVI-HDMI).
2) Change my sound device. For example, from my speakers to the tv's audio input.
So far, all I was able to find is get the list of screens connected to the system through Screen.AllScreens but nothing more.
If this can be made without using windows API it would be best, if not than some code example would be a huge help.
Thanks in advance,
Yosi

Sourceforge? I don't know, you just want written applications on anything as long as they interact with a database?? Why don't you learn through the documentation instead of shifting through code to learn-by-example

Don't repeat your question, use the edit button, we have all already seen your original post.
Again, what have you tried? Did you try LOOPING through the PANEL controls collection and printing whichever properties you see fit??
