Me and a few people are working on a project and i was wondering is there a way we can both work on it at the same time? We have to keep sending each other the updated codes once one person has finished working so the other person can work on it to, But we are only able to have one person working on it at once because all the updates wont be in the same source file....
Can anyone help us out with this?

You could try rootjumper's suggestion, or CVS[^], or Perforce[^]. A lot depends on how many people are working on the project, and how large the project is.

0) Break the file into workable chunks.
1) Use "Add as link" to refer to the same file.
2) Use a version control system.
3) Don't use Visual Studio.

If twoo persons are working on the internetwork and they both working on the same project then they can also use the subversioning for the code sharing purpose or any alternative is available.

Probably not practicable with source files on an existing project.
PIEBALDconsult wrote: 1) Use "Add as link" to refer to the same file.
I've not heard of this, can you explain?
PIEBALDconsult wrote: 2) Use a version control system.
Agreed
PIEBALDconsult wrote: 3) Don't use Visual Studio.
Why not, I've used it quite successfully with CVS in the past?

Sure it is.

In a Solution Explorer, you can right-click to "Add | Existing item..." to a Project which brings up a dialog box, you select whatever existing files you want to add. Then, rather than clicking the Add button, click the arrow on the Add button and click "Add as link".
So, the developers can have a common set of code somewhere, and have their projects refer to the files without making local copies. When one developer saves changes, the other(s) will be notifiied to reload that file.
Richard MacCutchan wrote: Why not
Mostly (in this case) because it always wants to make local copies of stuff.
Another option would be to have the source code and projects in a common place and have the developers share the projects directly.

I need a three dimensional form for my new stunning windows application. Can anyone help me that how I design a form and use it in Visual Studio 2005.
Thanx in advance.

I don't know that there is such a thing as a three dimensional form. If you wish to draw 3D shapes on a form then you will need to use the 3D class libraries. This[^] should probably be of assistance.

You're going to have to describe what you mean by "three dimensional".

I would prefer to see one, rather than reading about it.
Will I need stereo glasses?

I'm sure workable 3D displays will be with us soon.

Ah, by "workable" I meant one that doesn't need glasses. I remember trying out the some early LCD shutter glasses and hi-res projectors about 12 to 15 years ago, and it was impressive even back then, but things haven't really advanced much since.
I'm waiting for a proper hi-def, full colour 3D image I can move around, and / or rotate in any direction. A haptic interface to go with it would be nice too...

I mean with three dimensional is that..........
If i needed to use a fighter plane as a form for my windows application and I wish to generate different events on the clicks of body of plane. or any other event( else click ) .

Alright. This explanation isn't that great either. i'm just going to say that you cannot use a 3D model as a form. You can SHOW a 3D model IN a form and have various part of the model clickable. It would require DirectX to be able to do this. I would suggest starting with the XNA Framework and learning the basics of 3D modeling and using XNA first.

I have created one control in Vb.net in I am calling Webservice in the contorl. Now I using this control in VB 6 , but I am getting error as
"Coult not find default endpoint element that references contract "webservice name" in the Service Model Client configuration section. This might be because no configuration file was found for your application, or because no endpoint element matching the contract cout be found in the client element "
Please do the needful.

This should be the big hint. VB6 doesn't use app.config files, so you're going to have to setup every thing that would normally be done automatically by the app.config file yourself in your control. Though, since I haven't used VB6 is quite a long time, I'm just guessing here.

Ok, I've Googled myself silly...
In my base class I overload the == operator (including GetHashCode , != and Equals ) and when I do a customerA == customerB it works 100%, yet when I do a customersList.IndexOf(customerA) I always get -1 even though I can see a customer instance in the list that should return true in my overloaded operator, and when I place a break point in my operator overloader it stops when I do a == , but it does not break when I do an IndexOf() ...
Help please...

Hi Mark,
I found that implementing this in my base class did not give me what I needed, implementing it in my actual (child) class however gave me what I needed, does that make sense to you?
