Could any one give me a similar LINQ code to calculate GEOMEAN for my code (in VB) please? (My code was for Average)
My code for calculating Average is
Dim MyVal as Double = mySourceTable.Compute("Avg(" & aSumColumn & ")", (aGroupByColumn & " = 'abc' AND " + amYearColumn & " = '2009'"))
Because I don't family with LINQ so I tried to modify the code to
Dim values As IEnumerable(of double) = dtGroup.AsEnumerable().Where(r => r.Field<int>(aGroupByColumn & " = 'abc' AND " + amYearColumn & " = '2009'")).Select(r => r.Field<double>("Total"))
Dim geometricMean = Math.Exp(values.Select(Math.Log).Average())
Absolutely, the modified code above can not be run.
I did not use LINQ before and I also did not use C#. Please give me the LINQ to calculate GEOMEAN in VB.
I have a vb.net app (.net 4) which writes serial data (no more than 10 bytes, via System.IO.Ports.SerialPort) and there seems to be a delay in the send. An external device tells me to do something. It takes my program about 15ms to process this request and send the result back to the host. The host is timing me to see how long it takes. I can guarantee that I am sending the serial string within the 15ms, but the host doesn’t get it for 80ms and some times as much as 150ms! What external force is causing this delay? I was original using a USB to serial adapter but have since switched to a PCIe card and am getting the same results.
None, it is caused by the design of Windows. See here[^].
You application is not the only one running, and you cannot guarantee your call will be within 80 or 150ms, as Windows is not a realtime-OS. That way other applications (like from some companies that like to preload their reader) cannot use up all resources.

If you can't read my code, try converting it here[^]
Ask it under ASP.NET forums, they would say "ASP.NET is the best!". Ask it under PHP forums, they would say "ASP.NET is the worst!"
So it just doesn't make any sense at all as the choice is yours to make. You can surely Google for it and ask about the features and services provided by each of the framework. You will get the idea yourself.

I have installed microsoft visual studio on windows 8.1.
Windows 8.1 had already got 4.5 ,3.5.
I have followed all the steps of IIS .
While creating ASP.Net website ,once I give the name and click Ok to start working ,I get this msg box:
"ASP.NET 2.0 has not been registered on the web server. You need to manually configure you webserver ASP.NET 2.0 in order for your site to run correctly."
how to do it manually?
I have started learning ASP.Net Web application.
While saving first project ,it should show localhost name in the **location ** field.
But it shows normal project folder present in C: path.
I have also set up IIS Services.
OS is Windows 8.1.
ASP.Net is 4.5 and 3.5 also.
When I try to run inetmgr in run command ,it shows "Windows cannot find inetmgr .Make sure you typed the name correctly".
Please tell me the solution.
For each drive you have, type the following into a command prompt
dir /s inetmgr.exe
This looks for the inetmgr.exe file and will tell you where it is located, if it's installed. To be honest, it sounds like you haven't actually installed IIS. You might want to try downloading and installing IIS Express instead.
Dear Friends, Can you suggest the options for Exception and Performance Monitoring tools for .Net Applications. Back in 2010 I had used AVI Code Intercept Studio, which was a great tool and helped to a great extent discovering bottlenecks and un-handled exceptions . Since AVI Code is taken over by Microsoft it is now available only as a part of Microsoft System Center 2012.
I want to consider a tool which can be used in such a landscape where most of the servers are with Windows 2000, 2003, and 2008 and with applications ranging from .net framework 1.1 to 4.5.
The primary intention here is to monitor the exceptions rather than performance.
While searching on the net I came across this... but never knew about it before
Not at all my friend... This surely not an ad.
I have posted this question on various other groups.. but didnt get any answer so far.
I am part of a big DR implementation project...of such an IT landscape which is pretty much f***ed up already...70% being on .net platform but most of it 1.0 or 1.1 framework and on old OS... windows 2000 or 2003...with no proper documentation and standards for instrumentation and logging. I want to make sure that bringing up the applications in DR site is going to be as smooth as possible.
