No, Currently only Windows Sever 2003 ships with the .NET Framework.

If I remember correctly, if you built your installer using a setup project in Visual Studio then it tests for you because it is set with the details of the components required.

hi,
I cannot get this SQL command to work in MySQL, its supposed to update the product quantity with how many has been ordered by the customer
UPDATE Products
SET ProdQuantity = (ProdQuantity - s.Quantity)
FROM Products p, ShoppingCart s
WHERE p.ProductID =(SELECT ProductID FROM ShoppingCart WHERE ProductID = p.ProductID and s.CartID='" + Convert.ToString(cartID) + "')")
Im not sure what im doing wrong, anyone have any ideas?

Hello
I have created an application (ASP.NET) using MS Access as the database and have been asked to now create an MS SQL version. Everything is okay except for the Boolean fields. MS SQL does not have a Boolean data type (they are converted to a type of Bit). Also a true value is -1 in Access and 1 in MS SQL.
I don't want to have to maintain two separate pieces of code.
Does anyone know of a way to either code so that both databases will accept the same instructions OR is there a way to determine which backend database is being used. I am using a DSN for the connection.

If you write a DAL (Data Abstraction Layer) you can create a defined interface to it and then have one Assembly for the Access and one assembly for SQL Server. Then all you need to do in your code is take a value, which you create, from the application's config file that tells you which DAL to use. The DAL is constructed and you communicate with it through the interface (or abstract base class, if that is your preference). The DAL contains all the database interaction code.
Of course, this solution is best if you already have a well defined DAL and just want to extend it to use different back-end databases.

Non-managed C++ code isn't any different really. If you were writing a managed c++ app then you could use ADO.NET
In VC6, I like to use ADO. It is simple and straight-forward to use. There is even a great helper class here[^]

I explain better:
i've developed an application uses ado.net and microsoft access database.
This application works fine on my pc and on another that has installed Microsoft Office 2003.
If i do that on another that havn't Office 2003 on it doesn't work.
Maybe i need some dlls.
Where are them and how i unclude in my project?
Where does my setup process have to install them?

when i work on local server i can do the method you said.but the question was when i work on the actual server. for example i can use ftp and www.root to copy the pages of the site without the database.but i do not now how to access to the start menu of the server and open the enteprize manager.and restore the database.how can i access to the enteprize manager?
