MadCap was recognized in the Content Creation category for its native XML MadPak technical communications suite enabling single-source publishing to print, desktops, mobile and the Web
La Jolla, CA, USA – December 12, 2012 – MadCap Software, Inc. (http://www.madcapsoftware.com), the leader in multi-channel content authoring and a showcase company for Microsoft (NASDAQ: MSFT) Visual Studio and Microsoft XPS, today announced that it has been named to the 2012-2013 EContent 100 list in the Content Creation category. The EContent 100 list is selected by a panel of eight judges and recognizes the 100 companies that matter most in the digital content industry. To view the full list, visit http://www.econtentmag.com/Articles/Editorial/Feature/The-Top-100-Companies-in-the-Digital-Content-Industry-The-2012-2013-EContent-100-86248.htm.
“The digital content industry is constantly in flux, but perhaps never more so than in 2012,” said EContent magazine’s editor, Theresa Cramer. “Submissions for this year's EContent 100 list were better than ever, and consequently our judges had their work cut out for them. This year’s list still has many of the old standbys, but there are plenty of fresh faces as well--many of which are shaking up the content industry.”
“From the start, we have focused on delivering a superior experience to our customers, who recognize the strategic value of letting readers choose the way they receive content, whether it’s in print, on the Web, on desktops, or on their mobile devices,” said Anthony Olivier, MadCap founder and CEO. We are thrilled to be named to the 2012-2013 EContent 100 list, which validates our continued commitment to delivering a comprehensive technical communications suite with single-source publishing to all the channels that users rely on for their information today.”
One Source for Reaching Users Across Multiple Channels
MadPak is the industry’s most comprehensive authoring suite, featuring integrated, XML-based products for complete end-to-end technical communications. The suite features MadCap Flare for single-source, multi-channel publishing; MadCap Contributor for editing, reviewing and contributing to Flare content; MadCap Analyzer for analyzing Flare-based content; MadCap Capture for image capture and graphics editing; MadCap Mimic for publishing software simulation movies, video and audio, and MadCap Lingo for facilitating and streamlining the translation process. MadPak is now the content publishing solution of choice for thousands of companies worldwide, who are reducing project time anywhere from 30% to more than 400% (http://www.madcapsoftware.com/products/flare/roi.aspx).
Unmatched integration through a native XML architecture enables an end-to-end content solution for publishing in print and on desktops, mobile devices, and the Web – in their language of choice. For example, authors can:
* Translate content in a Flare project using MadCap Lingo, without transferring files.
* Work within Analyzer to directly optimize content in a Flare project.
* Create linked variables in Flare, Mimic and Capture, so changes in Flare automatically occur in Mimic and Capture.
MadCap continues to lead the wave in single-source multi-channel publishing by addressing all the formats that businesses want to use today. With MadCap Flare, the same project can be published as WebHelp, HTML5 Help, interactive mobile Help, an eBook, PDF files, Word documents, and more. Easy creation of Quick Response (QR) codes with Flare means all of these formats can provide single-click access to the information users need. Additionally, team collaboration enabled by Microsoft SharePoint integration and version control through integration with both Microsoft Team Foundation Server and Apache SVN, is increasingly leading companies to bypass content management systems in favor of using MadPak.

New case study from MadCap Software examines how Ektron leverages single-source publishing, QR codes, HTML5 and mobile publishing in Flare, and content tuning with Analyzer
La Jolla, CA, USA – MadCap Software, Inc., the leader in multi-channel content authoring and a showcase company for Microsoft (NASDAQ: MSFT) Visual Studio and Microsoft XPS, today announced that it has published a new case study on Ektron Inc. A leader in Web content management and Digital Experience management software, Ektron is using MadCap Flare to enrich the user’s experience with Quick Response (QR codes), pull-down menus, and content delivered in customers’ format of choice whether in print, on the Web or on mobile devices. Ektron also relies on MadCap Analyzer to review and improve the quality of its Flare-based content. The full Ektron case study is available at: http://www.madcapsoftware.com/casestudy/Ektron.aspx.
Ektron delivers one of the world’s premier platforms for creating, deploying and managing enterprise-scale, global, personalized websites. Some 3,700 customers and 12,000 public-facing websites use its software, and Gartner Inc. positioned Ektron in the Leaders Quadrant of the 2012 "Magic Quadrant for Web Content Management" report. Having built a strong brand around state-of-the-art software for the Web, Ektron relies on MadCap Flare and MadCap Analyzer to deliver best-in-class product Help and documentation in print, on the Web, and on mobile devices.
Using Flare and Analyzer to employ minimalism and eliminate redundancy, Ektron has cut its Web format output file count from 6,297 to 3,192 over the last couple of years, nearly a 50% reduction, as well as reduced its project file count by 26%, from 5,455 to 4,038. Other key benefits Ektron has realized include:
* Flare’s single-sourcing enables print, Web and mobile content to be published from the same project.
* Conditional text facilitates the ability to update content in line with new product releases.
* Topic-based content, drop-down menus, and QR codes facilitate user access to the information they need.
* Separation of style and content, along with flexible style capabilities enabled Ektron to align the look of its HTML5 and mobile Help skins with its corporate website.

Enterprise developers can easily build hybrid mobile applications with native wrapper frameworks for iOS, Android, and Windows Phone platforms
Research Triangle Park, N.C.—December 11, 2012—Syncfusion Inc., a leading provider of components for Windows development, today announced the release of Orubase, a cross-platform mobile application development tool that enables .NET developers to easily build hybrid mobile applications. Orubase includes native wrapper frameworks for the iOS, Android, and Windows Phone platforms. As a result, .NET developers can leverage their existing web development skills to produce powerful, 100-percent native mobile applications that work on a broad range of devices.
A recent survey by analyst firm IDC, sponsored by SAP/Appcelerator, found mobile application developers' biggest challenges included dealing with multiple operating systems, dealing with multiple device classes, learning many languages (such as Java and Objective-C), building acompelling user interface/user experience, managing many code bases, and integrating data sources. For enterprises with Microsoft-related assets, Orubase solves all of these challenges.
Using the Orubase Wizard, developers can effortlessly build starter projects. The Wizard creates a template with native navigation components for mobile web, iOS, Android and Windows Phone platforms. Generated projects are ready to run and can be customized easily within the respective IDEs.
“Orubase saves .NET developers time and makes their job easier by solving many of the challenges associated with fragmentation. It provides an extensive set of mobile web controls that can be directly used in web applications to produce stunning platform-specific user interfaces,” said Daniel Jebaraj, vice president of Syncfusion.
Key features include:
· Truly native navigation—key navigation elements that control the user’s navigation experience are implemented with native code.
· Complete bridge to native application programming interfaces (APIs) on each of the supported device platforms—common native APIs such as contacts, notifications, accelerometer, and camera are readily supported and work seamlessly with applications.
· More than 18 well-tested mobile controls havebeen implemented and work exclusively with the standard Microsoft ASP.NET MVC framework. Automatic platform-specific rendering enables mobile controls to automatically render iOS, Android and Windows Phone interfaces from a single view.
· Support for encryption—developers have access to advanced encryption support.
· Leverages the Microsoft data-access stack to integrate data from any source including Oracle, SQL Server, SQL Azure, SQLite, enterprise ERP systems, web services, and more. Use language-integrated query (LINQ) or any other API available from within the .NET environment to access data.
The web components and hybrid layer of Orubase are provided bySyncfusion. Orubase does not contain third-party tools or components, and isbacked by Syncfusion’s end-to-end technical support. Syncfusion recently used Orubase to build iOS and Android mobile applications for its online supportsystem, Direct-Trac, which are now available at Apple's App Store and Google PlayGoogle Play.
"Orubase enables us to deliver custom native apps within our DoctorDirect product line to our customers. We especially like how Orubase works with an MVC code base," said Dean Newton, Director of Business Development at NurseLineMD. "Syncfusion has an unparalleled track record when it comes to .NET development tools and their customer support team is a true partner when challenges present themselves."

What's New in this Release?
Saaspose.Pdf is a REST API that allows creating, editing and manipulating PDF files in the cloud. Whether its text extraction, image extraction or conversion to other file formats, Saaspose.Pdf has it all in this REST API. You can integrate its feature into your application using any programming language of your choice. Saaspose.Pdf is a suite of exciting features that helps to enhance the productivity of your application. One of these powerful but simple features is conversion of PDF files to other file formats and images using Saaspose.Pdf REST API. Saaspose.Pdf allows you to convert PDF file to HTML in the cloud. You do not need to manually convert the PDF file to HTML; Saaspose.Pdf is there to perform the required tasks in your applications. The conversion of PDF file to HTML generates a unique and permanent link. This link would always be located at the same URL. One of the benefits of this conversion is that you can utilize the code generated by the conversion and place it as per your requirements. As it is a REST API, you only need to consume its REST interface in your application. You can either invoke these REST operations directly using your own code or you can use a REST client for your particular language. You can directly convert PDF files to HTML on your local system using Saaspose.Pdf direct REST interface and SDKs without saving the file to Saaspose storage or any other supported storage. You can use the file path or stream to convert the local PDF file to HTML using Saaspose.Pdf REST API. The file is sent through request stream to Saaspose servers, processed and the output is sent back as response stream. In this case, the file is not saved on Saaspose storage. It is a single call process that uses convert controller resource; it uploads the file to server, converts the file to the desired format, sends the converted file back as response stream and deletes the source file from the server.

New case study and NoSQL Roadshow presentation examine how Adfonic processes 100 billion ad impressions each month with Aerospike to determine the best mobile ad placements
Mountain View, CA – December 5, 2012 – The need to reach millions of mobile users with the right ad at the right time is upping the ante for scale and speed. No one understands that better than Adfonic. The company’s mobile advertising buying platform gives advertisers and agencies access to global mobile Web and application inventory through a single buying point. A new case study examines how Adfonic relies on the Aerospike real-time NoSQL database to process more than 100 billion global ad impressions per month across nearly 250 million unique mobile users. The full Adfonic case study is available at: http://www.aerospike.com/why-aerospike/customers.
The Adfonic mobile ad buying platform enables customers to run performance, rich media and video ad campaigns across a wide range of inventory sources to drive direct responses, increase consumer engagement, and build brand awareness. Aerospike works with Adfonic’s Madison mobile demand-side platform (DSP), which uses real-time bidding to enable mobile ad inventory to be bought and sold on a per-impression basis, via a programmatic instantaneous auction.
Adfonic Case Study
The new case study examines the business and technology factors that led the company to choose Aerospike. It also reviews how Adfonic has deployed Aerospike clusters in its hub and three data centers to bring data closer to customers and ensure 100% uptime. Key benefits that Adfonic has realized with Aerospike include:
• Helps enable real-time processing of more than 100 billion mobile ad impressions each month.
• Reliably responds to queries within 5 milliseconds, while handling 100,000 queries per second.
• Supports time-to-live (TTL) values by automatically deleting expired data to maximize database efficiency and performance.
• Enables real-time replication and rapid synchronization between Adfonic’s hub and three data centers across the US and Europe.
• Ensures continuity and availability even if one data center experiences a failure.
NoSQL Roadshow Presentation
Wes Biggs, Adfonic co-founder and CTO, and Brian Bulkowski, Aerospike founder and CTO, will be featured speakers at the NoSQL London Roadshow being held December 6, 2012, at the Crowne Plaza London. Mr. Biggs will present the case study and discuss best practices in his session entitled, “Choosing the Right Database to Move Big Data in Real-Time.” Mr. Bulkowski will speak on “Aerospike: Breaking the Predictable Performance Barrier.” For more information, visit http://www.aerospike.com/events.
“Aerospike designed its database with our advertising use case in mind, which means we can set the database running and know that it’s going to do its job,” said Wes Biggs, Adfonic co-founder and CTO. “We like the kind of guarantees that Aerospike provides, and we have been pleasantly surprised that the database does everything Aerospike said it does. This is why we trust that Aerospike will be a valued partner for years to come.”
“As one of the world’s innovators in tailoring advertising solutions for the opportunities and demands of mobile advertising, Adfonic recognizes the value of using technology that is optimized for real-time marketing,” said Brian Bulkowski, Aerospike founder and CTO. “We are thrilled by Adfonic’s success in using our Aerospike database to expand the reach of brands and marketers with the growing ranks of mobile users worldwide through the predictable, real-time delivery of relevant ads.”

Aspose.Slides for Java has a clever system for merging presentations: simply access the presentations you want to merge and clone the slides to a target presentation. This video tutorial shows how to merge two presentations, bringing across both slides and slide notes, using Aspose.Slides for Java. Click here to watch vidoe tutorial about Merging Two Presentations with Aspose.Slides for Java
Migration Tip – Finding and Replacing Text with Aspose.Slides for .NET vs VSTO
Sometimes, you might need to find text in a Microsoft PowerPoint presentation and replace it with a new string. Say, for example, that the name of a department changes, or a key member of staff is replaced. Instead of manually correcting every instance of a word or name, you can do it programmatically, saving time and effort. You can use VSTO but we recommend freeing yourself from Microsoft Automation and using Aspose.Slides for .NET instead. Read the complete migration tip about Finding and Replacing Text with Aspose.Slides for .NET vs VSTO.

When searching “Made in China” on Google, there are 1.6 billion results. How big the number is! This indicates that made-in-China has become a global phenomenon. But even now, when many foreigners talk or mention a made-in-China product, the words that occur to them first maybe “cheap and low quality”. In IT industry which was dominated by foreign enterprises before, such view is particularly common. However, this perception is not applicable to all Chinese made products and Raqsoft is among those which break that mindset.
Actually, according to a recent survey by Li-Ning, a leading Chinese athletic footwear and apparel Company, found that a growing number of consumers in the United States are willing to buy products of Chinese origin. Nowadays, quite a few Chinese brands in different industries have gained wide acceptance and appraise in the international market with their unremitting efforts. Even more made-in-China products are trying to win recognition of overseas customers. Raqsoft, the leading Chinese supplier for statistical computing and analytics software is no exception and differentiates itself from other similar tools with innovativity and creativity.
Most of people like to connect cheap price with low quality. But “cheap price” not always equals to “low quality”. Raqsoft and many other made-in-China IT products are changing that old notion with high quality just like esProc and esCalc, the two self-developed and cutting-edge data computing tools. Their special script and step by step computing mode make them more capable and ease of use compared with traditional statistical computing tools like SQL and Excel. Besides their high quality, they are really quite cost-effective, as they not only provide the lowest price, but also bridge the gap between business and IT as well as cut the enterprises’ labor and management cost.
“During 12 years development of statistical computing software, we always focus on products innovation and creation. Offering analysts with intelligent products is always our top priority. Now we are pleased to announce that esProc and esCalc, the tools which represent the new generation of business intelligence software will bring unexpected experience to business analysts,” Jiang Buxing, the president of Raqsoft says, “We are confident that these two tools will be a revolution from cars to trains on statistical computing and break the unfavorable stereotype of made-in-China IT products.”
